  • @XenoStare @headmetwall that’s right. Steam is a business. They are not really for open source. Open source, is still a business model. It’s not public domain or libre software. Then can always make their stuff closed source at anytime. Just need to gather free work from the community and to elevate its private business. Still, there are articles detailing Valve as anti-consumer. It’s a search bar away.

  • @PMMEFEETPICS @njinx yes! This is why that we really need to start pushing for alternative gaming business methods. Itch.io is great for this. Better than gog in my eyes for really bringing forth gaming space to a more democratic and DRM free space. The mission needs to include more open source, libre software and we need to support that. Gamers making their games their way and not trusting third or fourth parties to get them there.

  • @TWeaK @LoafyLemon it’s not a co-op. Still, that would be an interesting business model in the gaming space. I think people would be down to support something really alternative. I’m tired of MS and apple and all these business that are still stuck in old school business mindset.

  • @irmoz @constvoid we as gamers need to unite and not have to feel like we need to participate in this manner. We can create things we like on engines and systems of our choice. We make it worse by indulging in individualistic behavior of not standing by our fellow gamer.
