Then its not a migration, which is what we're talking about.
If you're happy leaving a group of thousands, tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands in some communities for a group of 100 that's cool, but don't spin it as a successful migration.
The rest of the world didn't even realize we left.
I just checked the Star Trek community on reddit and it's still up with 753k members and 189 online. The Lemmy versions I can find are a fraction of that.
The idea of Lemmy is great but let's not fool ourselves into thinking big communities actually migrated.
I stopped riding in cabs after the umpteenth time of getting pressured to pay in cash instead of credit card or being told the "meter was broken" and I had to pay a flat rate.
Ridesharing has a lot of problems but they're a much better customer experience.
I want to blame the company but from their point of view this business model works so I understand why it keeps happening.
Steam refunds are great for situations like these but I doubt the average casual knows how easy it is. The other platforms are much stricter on refunds.
There's also the culture shift of gamers defending broken releases with "at least they fixed it!" Or "they released a roadmap for future fixes" that encourages early releases.
Nex provided a recorded audio and video statement, I'm confused on how so many people are interested in the story but won't listen to the firsthand accounts.
"Apparently" is doing a lot of work here. This is the story the group of teens that beat Nex gave the police
Did you listen to Nex's recorded statement? Nex volunteered the idea that they poured water and initiated the confrontation because the others were possibly "laughing at them".
Nex is also on camera filling up the bottle and going into the bathroom to confront the group.
Does that mean Nex deserved to be beaten by a group of people? No and they should be investigated. But stop making up facts to suit your narrative or ignoring information that contradicts what you hoped happened.
Uh, yeah most likely. See: 2014 Annexation
