The main thing that struck me about Seattle when I first moved there was all the hills. Coming from Phoenix, where there is zero relief unless you're on one of the sporadic mountains, navigating that kind of terrain required adjustment. My first quarter at UW, a friend took me to a rave off Pioneer Square, and we missed the last bus back to the U-District.
