First software gig? In this market, take whatever to get experience imo.

But that second/third/etc job? Culture, then salary, then everything else. Last interview I went to bragged about giving everyone brand new sneakers yet pay $25k less than average.

The major difference is depending on the city.

Absolutely in Tokyo and Saigon, bike riders of all ages were going about their lives. But I can't imagine being a elderly bike rider in some US cities. Some drivers WANT to fuck with bikers. It's disgusting.

To add to this, imagine the person who died was your own child.

You just fucking lost your child, and some motherfucker looks you in the face and calls you a liar. They prank call your job to get you fired. They spray paint your car and picket outside of your house as you're trying to bury your 45lb dead child.

You flee out of state and they follow you to demand answers.

For YEARS. These people who lost their livelihood were harassed for YEARS.
