  • As a social activist and tech worker, my interests bleed into hacking, security, and doing the right thing. During my work with BLM, one of my aliases was targeted by right wing trolls. Easy to dissolve and make a new one. I worked with activists who have had their children targeted, their neighbors targeted, even their jobs threatened.

My friends and family, wife and children do not deserve any backlash for my comments.

  • After being outted on Reddit years ago, I made a rule to myself. If I ever become known on a platform (or on Reddit, reach 100000 upvotes), I'd delete my account and start over.

Frankly, some of the shit I've said could get me in trouble at work or my real life. So the anonymity is a boon.

If I was counting reddit, this would be my 13th account.

  • I dunno about that.

Just make it a narrative action game then.

If I see a game with a massive inventory, a bunch of stats, and killing monsters with my sword increases my sword speciality by 1... I'm going to have a lot of other expectations.

Edit: I love the downvote because you disagree. Reply why. Don't be like reddit.

  • The good machines (uncertain about McDonald's) let's you customize everything. Want three pickles? So it. Half mayo? Sure. No top bun? Live your life!b And it gives you ingredient listings.

And whose to say the minwage cashier even knows what's in the food? Not at all a insult, but in my area, many cashiers have English as their third/fourth language.

  • I like touchscreens because I can spend more time getting my order right without wasting the cashier's time.

I don't want to talk to a cashier and have them explain the difference between a bacon sandwich supreme, and a bacon burger deluxe.

I don't want to confuse them by asking for extra veggies and watch them put it on the side.

I don't want to argue that I asked for two packs of ketchup and they gave me BBQ.

  • Yes absolutely. There's a slight shift of tone in regards to journalism. A lot of takes definitely come off more neutered as to not offend a company or lose favor. It's unfortunate. But then again, I'm not interested in ragebait so it wasn't a big thing for me. And other sites (and social media) do it already.

They still go into fresh perspectives. Random things like are audio logs a good mechanism for storytelling. Or the best item in Skyrim (which is filled with such cheeky humor to invite friendly arguments)

And some of the newer hires still haven't found their RPS voice. They're trying "too hard" to be zany.

I am still looking for a gaming blog that takes gaming mildly seriously. Ones willing to have both AAA games and incredibly tiny indie games on the front page, sprinkled with opinionated posts about their favorite book covers in RPGs, or if highlighted interactive items is good UI.
