The moment a brown guy kills a person in bumfuck nowhere, they'll use that story for weeks about savages and how these monsters can disturb white folks way of life a thousand miles away.

Was just reading about how my city's police force is demanding more money after the rise of vandalism and other crime.

The difference between experienced devs and non experienced devs is that we have hundreds of stories like that under our belt. Hundreds of "Ah I wasted all this time because of a typo", and now we know to check for it.

It never stops. And after a while, a dev will share this exact scenario and you'll look back and share the same bit to them.

Honestly did this what I did for a terrible manager. I said her office's feng shui was weird and giving off negative energy. We helped her move some stuff around and told her it has more positive energy, and she should channel that.

Really she was standoffish and rude, and the whole talk (and office adjustment) made her soften up. She's improved dramatically.

I work at a web hosting company and we'd get requests from "da guberment". They were usually warrants and asking us to transfer data.

Never ever did they go, "Keep that racist white power pushing for violence website up and available to the public". Without legal action, a govt can't demand a private company what to do.
