  • I'm not because I want to believe Democracy and the rule of Law ultimately will prevail (because if not we're screwed) but I totally understand your cynicism. Over and over he dodges consequences. It's infuriating.

  • Another GOP scumbag fleecing the rubes by targeting an actual public servant. Dr. Fauci's legacy will be having saved thousands of lives going back to the worst days of AIDS.

Paul will be a trivia question and punchline.

  • Their laughable incompetence and chaotic organization doesn’t change their intentions to stop the legitimate certification of the election. This was absolutely a massive attack on our Democratic system of governance. The fact that it was attempted by disorganized idiots doesn’t change that fact.

    We got lucky.

  • I'm by no means saying Lego are bad today, but I loved inventing my own stuff, not assembling someone else's design. Yeah my stuff was nowhere near as accurate or realistic….but wasn't that the point?

  • All hands meeting … “show of hands, who's been here less than a year?”…”you're all top notch, the best candidates from the best schools… we couldn't get that caliber employee years ago!” [suggesting those who built the business to that level were what, inferior - including the VP that just said it?]

It was meant as a compliment to the new folks…but it fell FLAT.

  • I would note that it’s not any part of the ethos so an atheist can be (or not) anything. A lack of faith in a deity and an absence of prescribed beliefs is precisely that after all.

So vegan and meat loving atheists can exist precisely as much as progressive and extremely conservative ones.

Is it likely or common? I’d venture so say I doubt it.

  • All the solid answers posted plus they're now a massive store - they can live on, say, $0.10 profit on a book because they made plenty more on the backpack and tire patch kit and deodorant you also added to your cart because convenience.

Plus no retail rent, no retail staff to pay.

It's like gas stations barely breaking even on gas, but making bank on snacks. Bookstores usually won't have those other product categories to fall back on like Amazon does.
