You don't need to be psychotic to murder someone. Soldiers can be trained to kill. There could be nothing in his head to medicate away, just a bunch of conservative dogshit where his mind should have been.

What ideology produces a comparable number of spree killers to the far right?

You don't have to be "crazy" to kill someone (unless you care to argue that every soldier is a crazy person) and you don't have to be far-right to kill someone.

But American conservatives absolutely target and encourage murderers using exactly the same methods as Muslim extremists do. They told him exactly who he should kill and why he should kill them.

Would he have killed him anyway, even if conservatives hadn't pushed him to? Sure, maybe.

But in this reality, he held up a severed head to the public and repeated conservative talking points.

But it wasn't something else and it's never something else.

The far-right intentionally targets vulnerable people. It's why all their heroes are teenagers or violently mentally ill.

Decapitating a family member because there are men in your imagination wearing women's clothes.

I'm sure the far-right is desperately searching for something "leftist" to pin on him while simultaneously applauding him in their seedy little Nazi chat rooms.

I doubt it's a natural evolution.

Climate change denial was the product of oil companies and worked on idiots. The "it's too late anyway" is likely also the work of oil companies and works on people who think they're smarter than the idiots.

For-profit, neoliberal media will never fairly cover any protest that may impact the profits of other neoliberals. It doesn't matter what form the protest takes, nor what the protest is for.

It's been that way ever since "Occupy Wall St", when news anchors feigned carefully practised bewilderment and asked "But what are they protesting. Of course if you asked any of the actual protesters, they were happy to make it clear.

So they just didn't ask.

Measuring any act of protest by metric of "the media covered it in a way that will bring the great unwashed on side" ensures that no protest will ever meet your standard. You may as well advocate that people don't bother and just politely wait for the end of the world. You won't even be alone in doing it.

Fortunately, those media companies don't control every method of communication just yet, so we can discuss it on social media or look it up independently.

What we can't escape is the endless protest policing, where people complain "that's not how I would have done it" on social media.

So maybe it's time for those people to unveil their perfect protest strategy that gets international attention, doesn't inconvenience anybody, gets fairly covered despite the millions spent to prevent it and doesn't require 3 wet wipes to fix.

My money is on their big reveal being "do fuck all and try and die of old age before it matters".

If only you held yourself to the same standard before yet another generic "This isn't an effective form of protest even though it made the news, and I'm talking about it, and I know what it was about" comment.

Or fuck, even in this reply, where your "useful response" was "you should protest with murder".

Looks to me like you just didn't like your opinions challenged, you just wanted to make sure everybody knew what they were.

If any Republican says Biden is for open borders he can just say "I had a bipartisan deal for closing the border and Trump and the Republicans killed it."

And if Republicans operated with logic and fairness, that would work.

Unfortunately, they don't. Trump could just claim the entire thing was deepfaked and his little cult would dutifully believe it without even knowing what a deep fake was.

They will accept literally any excuse, no matter how bad, to hold on to the opinions they want to have.

If they feel so fervently about this why are they stocking (and I assume selling) these books that offend them so much?

The neoliberals won't embrace anything unless there's profit in it.

Preferential voting is the only chance of a progressive gaining the power they need to make desperately overdue changes to healthcare, worker rights, housing, cost of living, etc.

A neoliberal government that occasionally panders to progressives is better than a neoliberal government that gets horny at the idea of spitting in poor peoples faces, which is better than fascists.

But we need to do so much more than "not making things worse".

You don't need the question mark. If something is for-profit (or can be used for profit) then sooner or later it will be enshittified.

They have teams of people whose entire job is figuring out ways to wring a few more cents from somebody. Put them at the helm of a company that's stood for 1000 years and they'll be thrilled at how easy it will be to use that name to sell plastic dogshit at a premium price.

Of course, neoliberals don't actually believe in neoliberalism, they profit off it's failure.

If you give a rich person even more money and it never trickles down, you just gave a rich person money. If you're claim companies will regulate themselves and they don't, you just gave companies the freedom to do exploitative, dangerous things in search of bigger profits.

If neoliberalism actually delivered on any of its promises, neoliberals wouldn't support it.

It's nothing more than a book of pre-made lies that sound plausible enough for a press conference and signal to other neoliberals that their feeding trough is being filled.
