  • I can't speak to every politician, but as a class, they seem to be elites that are disconnected from the average American.

AOC, having been a normal person, is able to bring the message that gets through to people without having it filtered through some sort of communication agency.

  • They should execute him. I hope this entire ring never gets to see life outside of a prison again.

  • Someone is afraid of getting asked why they wasted so much money on AI.

“It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends upon his not understanding it!”

  • This is misinformation.

Forrest also considered heart-rending testimony from two parents of Silk Road customers who died after consuming drugs. Prior to sentencing, the defense submitted a report from a forensic pathologist who detailed the lack of evidence to support the contention that drugs purchased on Silk Road caused those deaths or four others cited by the government. But Forrest deemed those incidents relevant because she concluded, based on "a preponderance of the evidence," that "the deaths, in some way, [were] related to Silk Road."

Thank you for following up with that

  • I'm not quite sure what kind of videos you want specifically, but I would recommend stronglifts 5x5 for beginner strength and couch to 5k for a beginner cardio program

If you follow these programs for a few weeks, it should give you a great baseline to build from. If you have a new years resolution to get into shape, following these will smash that goal (Though you may want to choose to only follow one at a time and then transition to the other)

  • How can you tell it's been upfitted for wheelchair access?

I would agree that people look better when they smile, but I think that it is considered sexist because women are asked to smile where men are not, in similar situations. I believe that women feel it is controlling, and since it's requested/required of women more often then men, their perspective is that it is sexist.

Would you feel okay with a woman asking you to flex? I would, but if it became something that happened on a regular basis, I think it would quickly become annoying to me.

  • I disagree, they are a fantastic stimulus program for amateur gunsmiths to make their first shotguns. Or if you prefer professionally made guns, you can offer cash (or PlayStations, I guess) to people who are waiting in line and get a fantastic deal!

  • Maybe invading other countries, having snipers shoot kids in the head, and bombing hospitals might lead to negative reactions

  • CEOs have not been held accountable for their actions by the legal system. This is inevitable with the way the United States is set up

  • The coordinated attack on the USS Liberty demonstrated that they are a horrible ally all the way back in 1967

  • It's not harmful, but it really depends on what roles you're trying to land.

I usually recommend going for A+ then Network+, then Linux+ for new technicians at data centers.

If you're worried about interviewing, I can say from the other side of the table that actual projects and working through issues shows experience more clearly than simply studying for and passing a cert. Even something simple like setting your desktop/server to be the DHCP server (instead of the router being the DHCP server)

  • It might be useful if they had bothered to link to the report they're referencing, or maybe even tell us who made the report.

  • Armed minorities are harder to oppress

  • Because it is a bot that

    1. Gives a biased opinion
    2. Pretends to be objective
    3. Was not asked for, and does not need to exist
    4. Forced onto the users despite many objections

One could just block it if they wished, but many users feel that their only way to give real feedback is by downvoting it. The Lemmy World admins have clearly shown they will not remove it no matter how the userbase feels.

If it simply gave the admins/mods feedback about sites, there wouldn't be very much pushback. But since it's in every story, giving an opinion of the news organization, it is attempting to influence the conversation.
