  • When you're trying to make your ticket/arrest quota, a guaranteed metric is hard to resist

  • The Dinah Project is composed of legal and feminist experts determined that the world will never forget the heinous sexual violence and gender atrocities perpetrated on October 7th, 2023, and the ongoing abuse of the hostages.

So it was literally created for this exact purpose, and has no established credibility.

  • I have been using Everydollar for a few years, without paying for the bank integration and other stuff. It's from Dave Ramsey

    The good:

Free if you don't want bank integration/automatic data pulling

    Relatively simple interface

    Website based

    The Bad:

    Assumes a zero-based budget

Tries to force an app if using a mobile device

Sinking funds are implemented in an odd way

  • It is very telling that the big donors would rather try to split the democrat vote than rally behind a popular candidate.

IMO, Dems have to allow the new generations to finally have their say and invite fresh ideas, or fatally break the party.

If they keep letting the money work against their voters, they're choosing the latter.

  • Israelis target civilians, it's not collateral.

  • I directly work with one of these people - they admit to spending all of their free time talking to the LLM chatbots.

On our work forums, I see it's not uncommon at all. If it makes you feel any better, AI loving is highly correlated with people you shouldn't ever listen to in the first place.

  • "It also enables the delivery of advertising content"

They already paid for the product! Double-dipping assholes

  • “Q.R., using his mother’s old laptop, had unfettered access to the internet and began searching for hardcore pornography,” says the court. His mom claims this led to “pain, suffering, disability, disfigurement, and mental anguish; psychological injury; past and future love of enjoyment and pleasure of living.”

It's not the internet making your son feel those things, it's you.

  • Can these people sue for malicious prosecution and civil rights violations?

  • So anyway

  • Of course this is what it means. The people who wrote down this existing right had done the same to their equivalents. It's not a fantasy.

  • Solving car violence is achievable without stripping rights and inviting government tyranny. Solving gun violence is not.

  • They're not mutually exclusive, but cars are much more dangerous than guns. Car violence needs to be addressed before gun violence.

  • How many Canadians are killed by gun violence? May 8, 2024 by Wayne Fletcher

In Canada, approximately 250 to 300 people are killed by gun violence each year.

  • You could simply continue to use the older versions - with Linux, you're not forced to update if you don't want to. Since it's open source, you could even continue modifying it freely. I think the people behind Linux are being a bit overkill in supporting older hardware in the most recent releases.

  • IANAL, but I believe a business can decide not to promote an employee for any reason with the exception of protected characteristics (Gender, race, etc.)

That being said, this is unreasonably shitty, and you should look for a job with more normal management practices. If they're pulling this, there's likely a lot more you're not seeing.

  • You have to change your steam settings to attempt to use proton. Once you do this, steam will allow the games to play. Practically everything will work once you do this.

  • It's been a long time since I actually used subnets, but IIRC you will need a physical interface for each network on the router regardless.

So let's say you set up your /24 network into 2x /25's, you will need an interface for the .0 network, and another for the .128 network

If you just have an interface for the switch, and another for the WAN connection, I don't think subnetting will work for what you're trying to do
