Are intentions. I [carrot] to do some grocery shopping today.

I pretty much blame touchscreens for the downfall of humanity. But I guess I'm not "normal".

I remember that anticipation fondly. 😁 I watched a bunch of videos on pfSense (Lawrence Systems on YT is great, but you probably know that already) and read a bunch of things, planning out what I wanted to do before I made the leap, and it was great!

I'm running a Pentium G4560 and 8Gb of RAM in a dual NIC Shuttle case. The specs were a total gamble but I have a lot of headroom currently so if I need to do more advanced stuff in the future I can.

Leaving consumer routers behind and going the pfSense route is among the best decisions I've ever made. Highly recommended for anyone who isn't afraid to learn some network stuff.

Of course, I do things because they're fun to do. But those things don't require any effort. When people talk about motivating yourself it's usually about using the motivation as a tool to do things that take a lot of effort.

I won't be satisfied until GTA has BeamNG car physics.

GTA 4 had the best driving physics of all GTA games. And GTA 5 is pretty much on par with GTA 2. Just because children too young to play the game complained en masse about driving being "too difficult" in GTA 4. God dammit it's a skill part of the game, you have to drive to get better at it. And when you do it's super rewarding with all the different car physics, a reward that is nowhere to be found in GTA 5. Sadly I'm not expecting GTA 6 to be any better.

Someone not too long ago asked me how I motivate myself, and I was quite puzzled by the question, like "what do you mean motivate myself? That's not how motivation works?", because to me motivation has always come from external sources, like people, situations, experiences etc. But no, apparently some (many? most?) people can somehow motivate themselves. I'd like to have that power please.

I like this graph a lot. It's different, beautiful and gives a good overview. The colors could have been slightly better though.

Totally agree. Gimp is really advanced and badass in many ways, but it's like a nuclear reactor control panel's worth of MS Paint. Hopefully the non destructive editing will change that. But yes like you said, Photoshop has the whole Adobe ecosystem, too. Hopefully things will change for the better with FOSS though, and I think it will. There should be a consortium formed of FOSS media software that aims to collectively work together to beat Adobe's ass.
