Nath, if you're not into microblogging in general then perhaps you won't ever be interested in it, but the algorithm is easy to train or replace with a custom Feed, moderation lists like this one let you mass block confirmed dickheads, and labellers like this one let you filter everything else.
Given your skillset you might even enjoy creating and publishing your own custom feed algorithm.

Quite a progressive youngster though. As a teen boy you'd usually have fucked someone's mum, not their dad. The youth are going to be OK.
