Im gonna put it this way, I'd be OK with not burning down someones house because their their grandpa was a nazi and they lived in it before. Also, not even remotely comparable, get your head out of your ass.

This topic is unfortunately a black spot for the lemmy community. The hate boner for musk is so hard, that some people now fail to see that burning other people's cars is a problem. This kind of behavior can lead to some very bad consequences for people who's only crime was literally just buying a car. Kinda leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

This may be my favorite part of fable 2, and im not the biggest halo fan but this was nice to see and the rifle is pretty amazing ingame.

I'm the same but I may just be getting older. Last game I was hyped for was Cyberpunk 2077 coming off of the stellar Witcher 3 and having followed both games I loved, W1 & W2. Sometime before it released, I just dropped all hype for it and haven't felt the same after. Haven't even played it yet either.

Today, I let myself be pleasantly surprised by games I never thought I'd like. I really liked Death Stranding and I'm waiting for its sequel but still no hype... I haven't even seen the trailer yet and I doubt I will... I'll buy it and go in blindly. Just have a PS for Sony's once a year AAA and that's it for AAA gaming. Most other days, its just AA or indie games on PC.. which is where I find a lot more flavor. As an example, this month, I've played Minami Lane, MudRunner and Art of Rally and starting Tactical Breach Wizards soon.

It wasn't "my" Half Life but it was a damn good one. It felt true to the series and that brought a tear to my eye. The writing, the environments, the soundtrack all felt very Half Life without compromise. I didn't like that it was a VR title but I understood why they went that route. In 2D, it would probably lack in depth (in more ways than one).

I borrowed a VR set from a friend to play it and bought the game at 60% off, which it frequently drops to. I'd urge anyone who has a VR capable PC to try and play it some way but VR is always going to restrict access to this. I'll probably play through it in 2d Mode (via mod) some day in the future to try and relive it. And if non-VR is the only way you get to experience it, at minimum, use headphones... and dont go online saying it sucks after because, remember, it was made for VR.

I preferred fable 2 over 1 because it had guns.

Relatively easy fix though. Get away from advertiser supported platforms and use community supported ones.

Afaik its always going to have some parts of uranium right? 50% after one half life, 25% after two half lives and it will keep on halving practically forever (or till the last atom decays). In the end it comes down to when you consider it a negligible amount.

I'd have to be near retirement age while still nimble enough to renovate it and hope my pension and savings would be enough to cover the costs.

Even then, it would be difficult to navigate renovations in that environment where you don't speak the language, have no idea how their houses are supposed to be built, waste disposal and the myriad of other issues that will surely arise.

Getting a job is going to be a bitch - thus the retirement age requirement.

If you aren't worried about power costs, yes, go for it.

I calculated the energy cost of running a 100w PC 24/7 for 2 years, covers the cost of a new mini PC + 2 years of its own energy cost. So I just bought a NUC which draws 7-8W. Less noisy too. Laptops usually draw less than desktops though so you may be good there.

I do it in nano over ssh. The shortcuts suck but it gets the job done.

I once went on a role playing server and it had really nice people on there. Everything was civilized too, they had police officers walking around lol.

And it's a valid point. Services like audible and Netflix offer something that can not be matched by traditional storage, that's why they are profitable to begin with. Streaming content instead of downloading it to each device is a good selling point, one which is covered by self hosting this stuff.

If its good enough, the news of it will get to me eventually and I will see for myself.

Good old Maslow. This is correct. The first two require money. As a single person without children, I've generally got the first two covered. I can not cover the third and I also feel like any amount of money will not help me either. This is why people with money say you cant buy happiness... because it is presumably at the top of this pyramid when you achieve it all.

World of Tanks huh? And Hearts of Iron, I see... In my observation - 30% they a nazi, 50% a commie and 20% just casually enjoy these games. And by nazi and commie, I mean what that word meant in 1940.
