Disagreeing is often treated as trolling by those you disagree with, depending on the subject. Mostly because those disagreements are often bad faith talking points from some groups of people.

He can be fun, as long as you treat him as a caricature.

It just saddens me that even in a post like this, that doesn't go into coding itself, the author still mentions VSCode by name instead of using a generic "editor" term - as if using anything else is just unthinkable.

I would try finding some de-bloated windows iso and try the VM route anyway. If your pc can run windows directly without much trouble, it should be able to run a lighter version of it on a VM too. You can dedicate most of your hardware resources to the VM and just no run anything else alongside it when you are working on an iPhone.

No, before now I did not know the name for it in my first language either.

We already have too few options to pick from and these days it's often the case that we don't even get to choose for ourselves.

For a while, burning CDs was my way of keeping backup of stuff. I might still have a bunch of them stored somewhere and if I still had any way to read them I would be picking them up right now to see which ones still worked and if there was anything interesting in there.
