  • Around the time the game first came out you could make all your money just by bounty hunting in a sidewinder. It was great because it was the only actually fun way to progress the game by making money. They quickly nerfed the fuck out of that though and things quickly devolved to the point it takes 200 hours of trading just to afford anything.

  • Is this some kind of European joke I'm too American to understand? In the US the only way you're getting internet service without a bandwidth cap is if you either pay a fortune for it or if you live so far out in the country they haven't even invented bandwidth caps yet.

  • WinRAR was good in ancient times when it was the only zip program available. Even in the Windows XP era there were better things to use if you knew about them. I doubt 7zip was really that usable in the early 2000s but it eventually got good and nowadays 7zip is so good that of you aren't using it, you're doing it wrong.

  • Idk, maybe if they didn't lock down their game to the point of always online with no mods and maybe if they reduced the grind to a point people with a job or a life could play the game and still progress the game at all, more people would play their space game.

It was borderline acceptable in 2015 when their game was the only one of it's kind but that is no longer the case. It's time to open things up or the game will die. Because as it stands, playing their old games + mods is a better choice than their new game with always online drm and no mods.

  • This is correct. Although I'm not sure what the actual viability of using a 3d printer for cutting the costs of living in society is. From my understanding you can only kind of recycle proper 3d printer grade PLA plastic and you definitely can't make 3d printer plastic out of trash. Machine tools on the other hand can accomplish many of the same things and a greater percentage of the stuff that goes with them can be made out of trash or scrap.

  • A home server is less expensive than YouTube Red. Download all their videos and periodically purchase new hard drives instead of giving YouTube a cent. Monthly fees are eating people alive. We have to be fighting back.

  • Some people have KDE problems because they use Nvidia. I have KDE problems because I switched from Nvidia to amd but there's no way to uninstall Nvidia drivers in arch without a os reinstall and I'm too lazy for that (games still work, but many of my KDE bugs are probably caused by Nvidia drivers still being present). We are not the same.
