  • Oh thank you so much for doing that!

Any way more people get the chance to see it is a good one, I really appreciate you doing that! :)

  • I'm good friends with Gardiner, we chat every day! The reason I'm using the fact he uploads to YouTube is that this is where I figure he is most know, and most found by users. It's not me stubbornly sticking my head in the sand, it's so people can find him easily and see his work.

Once we've done our interview, you can rest assured I'll have all of Gardiner's contacts listed up - and I'll even throw YouTube's down the bottom!

It was, yes. But I also had Liam (of Gaming on Linux) post this to his site, last year. By memory I think Noah (SteamDeckHQ) posted a few others I did also on his site, but initially these were shown on reddit. You won't find my post history there, however. I deleted my profile and content when I got well and truly sick of things there.

And thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

  • Well this is just the kindest comment I could hope for!!

Thank you! More to come, but first another News Post will be next, I'd say :)

  • AND I was very happy to find out it’s all Python! That’s my bread and butter (and it’s delicious)

I keep telling the developer of Junk Store that Python is the bee's knees, but since he is neck-deep in common lisp these days he keeps dismissing my adoration of Python!

I'm so glad you enjoyed this, you're the exact user this kind of thing I try arrange is for! And welcome to daily driving Linux, I do hope you settle in and stick around for the long haul :)

I'll make sure Mathieu sees your happy comment here, again, so happy you enjoyed this!!!

  • And a wonderfully dedicated developer - dedicated to Linux and FOSS itself as an idea, which is something I think fewer celebrate than should.

    Glad you enjoyed it!

  • Most of these were not on-the-spot interviews. They were very informal questions and answers.

So Writer felt appropriate to me - the questions were there, they can copy to paste elsewhere, or enter their own answers in the document.

  • I bring this up often because its so amusing to me.

Last year I did a lot of interviews with developers of popular Steam Deck and Linux programs. All went really well, and were quite fun to do.

One 'dev' (I use that term so loosely because I found out GPT is heavily used for their work) freaked out though when they saw my document I sent initially was an .odt file.

Knowing I am a pen-tester, they freaked out and told the public at large I was trying to hack them with a weird file type.

    .odt

It still makes me laugh. Anyway, I swear by LibreOffice, I use it daily and love it so much!

  • Thank you! I really appreciate your comment, it's one of very few which got the point of my post!

It's just...odd. I totally understand the sentiment, but I think there's some cave-dwellers in here who see the word Amazon mentioned and assume I am Bezos himself. Plenty of downvotes (which don't bother me) but a few who followed me away from Lemmy and sent me friend requests in order to abuse me was - IDK, fucking stupid because:

    • a) My post was pretty clear that it was just a reminder for those who do subscribe, and
    • b) I think sometimes people forget that abusing someone whose work is red team pen-testing and hacking everything and everything can be a risky plan. Not that I ever do, since we have ethics, but the fact remains. It's a odd decision to make.

I just figure they're mouth breathers.

  • Thank you for reading through! I was really proud of this one, and so grateful to the team that they took the time to take it so seriously.

And I'm so glad you're back on the world of GOG. By far it is my preferred platform, I own so few games on Steam - but my GOG library is endless :)

  • didn’t format correctly for some reason. No idea why since you had the # there and everything

I tried re-editing, but sometimes Lemmy does this. Its formatted as it should be, but it refuses to show correctly. I guess it might be the length of my posts, but that's just a (poor) reasoning on why. It shouldn't look like that, but it does. Nothing else I can do!

    Thanks, though. Much appreciated!

  • It really is!

They already took almost the lowest cut, next to itch.io, but this improvement to things is massive if you're an indie dev!

  • Whatever adhesive they used was a pleasant smell.

I know for a fact that they changed it after launch though, those launch models used a certain type, then later on it's just a different one!

And you're so welcome, that's exactly what I love to hear with these, they they make something like that a bit easier!!!!

  • Thank you!

    I just got to Malaysia today, and its the evening here now. ̶I̶'̶l̶l̶ ̶e̶d̶i̶t̶ ̶t̶h̶i̶s̶ ̶w̶i̶t̶h̶ ̶a̶ ̶p̶r̶o̶p̶e̶r̶ ̶l̶i̶n̶k̶ ̶f̶o̶r̶ ̶o̶t̶h̶e̶r̶s̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶f̶o̶l̶l̶o̶w̶ ̶t̶o̶m̶o̶r̶r̶o̶w̶ ̶m̶o̶r̶n̶i̶n̶g̶.̶ (done! thanks again!)

I appreciate you pointing that out! I always end up missing a bit in these :)

  • You absolutely should!

  • Thank you so much for the follow-up, it's always nice to have more depth on this kind of thing. Much appreciated!!!

  • No! Thank you for reading them!!!

Like I always say, I just feel lucky that people can be bothered reading through, because I have such a nice time sharing these :)
