I left moderating some significant subs back when with the 3rd party app protests, but did return to Reddit after that to start my own.
But now, since early December I'm done-done.
My account has been deleted (as with Discord), and I'm all in on the fediverse. Seeing the proposed changes (the concept of a paid sub that Spez is so adament about?), I just had enough. And the more news of Reddit I see, the happier I am I did.
Most of my daily time now is spent on Mastodon, but I am here every few days trying to share a post or two.
I used to share these so very often on Reddit, esp on my own sub-reddit there...and it's honestly the one thing I missed about being there. I'm very glad I remembered about Lemmy and re-joined here, because it's been so much fun finding a (mostly) willing audience for this kind of post again!
I'm trying to force myself to write these only one per week, but so far the majority were only 3 or 4 days between each. I'm sticking around :)
I make sure that every game I buy on GOG is done so through Heroic, so that the team (hi, Linguin!) gets the small % of each sale. I do love that GOG have an arrangement with them - it makes me very glad there is some option. And lucky for us, that option is amazing.
As with each of these I post, I am just amazed that what I stumble over, save and share here in these posts is as interesting to others as it is to me!
Having not been alive for the era I love the most (my father showed me the old world, where it was forums and individual's blogs...dedicated sites which weren't relying on ads being shoved into readers' faces. So that's 99% of my inspiration here. I just feel continually blessed that people read these and find what I find as interesting as I do.
"The open source version will remain and the Gog extension people have already paid for will continue to work. Nothing will be taken away. Nothing will be broken intentionally, that's not how we roll."
I'm the weirdo who thinks that writing these up is just the most fun I could have. Last year I did these weekly on Reddit, and I missed it a lot when I left that site. So...I'm so glad there are people here who enjoy these. I'm so glad I returned to Lemmy!
You might be right, at least they won't go anywhere until I do decide where to back them up in one collection. If you remember, or come across it, let me know!
Six of these so far, and considering how happy they make me, I don't expect I'll slow down any time soon! Just glad people find these as interesting to read as I do writing them!
