  • Yeah, that's plausible for sure given how humble Ross is... but for some reason I recall him saying quite early into the campaign (which I may be recalling incorrectly since it was almost a year ago, in many 2+ hour videos) that the EU had very strict political lobbying laws.

Receiving funds was a no-no, and even putting up a billboard would have ran foul of the rules and invalidated everything.

  • So one of the gotchas about stopped/disabled apps is that other apps can still call and launch them. I frequently saw my apps pop back up even after being disabled, since I used SuperFreezZ to monitor them. https://f-droid.org/packages/superfreeze.tool.android/

The alternative to that would be an ADB disable. IIRC it takes the app away from userspace completely. It doesn't touch the system-level though, so a factory reset will bring it back.

If you can't handle setting up ADB and it's hoops, there is an app combo that can set up a bridge and run the ADB disable for you: https://f-droid.org/en/packages/io.github.samolego.canta/

  • It's a shame that both AMD and Nvidia chose to abandon the sub-$250 market. I think I've mentioned before that I searched and searched for an affordable video card, only to land on stuff that was generations behind. So I ended up with an A580. Only complaint I have so far is that LXDE absolutely hated the card and wouldn't even boot in VESA compatible mode. But that's more a complaint on Debian's glacial pace than Intel.

  • Yeah, that's kind of why I asked. Gamestop propped up their numbers by bundling the magazine with their discount card. Game Informer wasn't selling on it's own merits, so I think the chance of it rallying with it's old staff is slim.

EDIT: removed the random Apple tangent

  • I'll be watching this discussion, as I'm currently using Remmina. It meet the bare minimum of SSH & RDP, but it doesn't have a clear method to organize connections and instead uses a big list. I also find the interface a tad counterintuitive, so maybe I'm just using it wrong.

It also seems to have a bug where it launches twice whenever I start my computer. So I have to close one.

  • If you are using Windows, double-check your services.msc to ensure that the VPN was disabled/removed. After I got tired of fighting, I uninstalled Brave and the uninstaller did not remove the VPN service. So I have my doubts the patch would remove it.
