  • Who cares. Lemmy.world sucks. I got tired of the constant server issues and switched a while ago. It took me like 5 minutes to find another instance and create an account. If my new instance does dumb shit like this, I'll just move again. Isn't this the whole point of Lemmy?

  • I had the same problem. The image ones are ridiculous, so I started using the audio option. I've rarely had to try again on those and it's usually only typing three words.

  • Why does it matter if cashier jobs evaporate. It's a shit job and automation is getting rid of it. That's a good thing. Also, what if I don't mind taking 5 minutes to scan my items FOR FREE just so that I don't have to talk to anyone or wait in line.

    The only negative I see is that corporations are making even more money. We should take it from them and implement UBI to pay these cashier's after their jobs evaporate.

  • I've been pirating since Napster and you're right, it's changed a lot. These days, I usually just stream from third party sites. Takes less room on your PC and is faster than downloading a torrent. Dopebox is where it's at for most stuff. 9anime if you like anime, it's better than the paid alternatives like Crunchy roll or Funamation.

    If you want to stick to torrents I've found 1337x to be the best since TPB died.
