Outside of losing a war, I'm not sure of any civilization that's changed as hard and fast as America is at the moment. And it's only going to get worse as the economy crashes.
That's not entirely true. He's so heavily leveraged on his Tesla stock that if it tanks to where it should be, he can't hold up twitter or the boring company. Who knows how SpaceX is doing because it's still a private company.
My guess would be that as people lost their homes, they started to inhabit places like that like the homeless founder bridges and such these days. Well, not the pyramids so much, but the colloseum definitely. It likely then became dangerous to be in that area. So they kept the structure up the best they could but weren't worried about part that didn't provide cover from weather.
I mean, this is kinda hilarious to me. The vast majority of people I know that did this, were right wing hoping to find out exactly how "European" they are. When asked about it, they rarely wanted to talk about it.
