This sort of move works best when it's part of a broader sweep of policy initiatives; improvements to public transport, more flexible working arrangements etc etc. Alongside designing cities that work for people, not just their cars.
Because, like the small boats thing, I think they agree with the principles. They're just arguing they can...do it cheaper. Which is a sorry state of affairs when that's the position the opposition is taking.
Read an article on it last week and IIRC the reasoning why the rule was in place was that they didn't think the public would go for the idea of people getting out on a technicality, and then being paid for the 'privilege'. Now obviously that's a bit daft, but I also think it goes against the very core of our judicial system in that 'innocent until proven guilty' right?
Kind of surprised they've stayed around as long as they have. As much as they're facing stiffer competition from discounters on the high street, I bet they're getting absolutely slaughtered with the emergence of super cheap online shops that can deliver in a day or two.
Wasn't trying to imply the person making the joke was an a** or anything, just that I think it's a lazy joke and the sort of thing I'd hear from someone who maybe doesn't pay that much attention to politics.
I finished Bloodborne for the first time last night. I kept butting my head against the wall that was the Wet Nurse, but when I finally got her beat It only took 4-5 attempts to dispatch the end-game boss.
I absolutely loved this game, but it still falls behind Elden Ring and Sekiro in my ranking of those games.
I'll throw out the final twenty minutes of Abzu. It's not one specific moment, more a combination of things that come together to make a truly incredible sequence that sees you doing things inside the game that you hadn't previously done, alongside some truly incredible visuals and music, it's really incredibly moving.
The unfortunate thing is that I'm not sure most people care, or perhaps a more generous view would be that they're too disengaged to notice....or care.
I think the English language versions of 3/5 ASoIaF books are already split into two anyway. Can't remember if aGoT or CoK are however.
