  • I don't understand why you asked me a bunch of questions as an answer to my question.

If it makes you feel better, yes, fuck Hamas and any group spreading terror and fear. Fuck anyone who harms innocents knowingly.

So, tell me, how do I say "fuck Israel's government, fuck it's vigilantes, fuck it's terrorists" without being accused or being an anti-semite?

  • Removal being life in prison? I think that's whay you meant, so let me know if i misread thay.

That's not what I think justice is because prison is about reform and not punishment. If you're punishing them, okay, then that's a whole other topic. But if your intent is to reform, and they're too old to serve the sentence designed for reform or they're deemed mentally unfit to be capable of reforming (usually in the case of extremely violent but low intelligent individuals), then the existing prison system we have in the US would be cruel to just cage someone who can't change. The conditions US prisoners endure, especially when it comes to inmates on death row, is abysmal. Giving them the opportunity to take their own life without pain or suffering is my main "preference", allowing death row inmates to just sit and rot in those conditions sounds worse than death. Of course, I'd leave that opinion up to the inmates though.

I'm in full agreement that laws are not 100% fairly and correctly applied, so my preference would be to allow painless suicide as "time served" for death row. Stay as long as you think you're innocent, and hopefully we fix the conditions so they don't want to take their life regardless of innocence due to the psychological damage they might receive.

  • What's the best way, in your opinion, to say "fuck the ruling government of Israel, it's supporters, and its financial backers" without someone thinking it's about Judaism? Because I don't care what religion the people who live in Israel practice, I don't care what religion the people in Palestine practice, I just want to tell fascist cunts who believe in spreading terror to go fuck themselves without any of that flack to be on who they pray to.

  • Removing them painlessly if they're not able to be rehabilitated, definitely what I would call justice.

Hanging, shooting, whichever other painful or 'old world justice' method, I'm hesitant to call that justice because it causes pain and suffering needlessly. Criminals treat people less than people. People must treat criminals like people, or we're all criminals.

  • I mean, I only believe in execution for people who are genuinely beyond help, extreme psychological damage or deficiencies, and that's because I don't believe in life incarceration either.

If someone can be reformed, reform them. If they can't, caging them like animals for the last of their days is almost worse than the death penalty for me too. A man who is sentenced to die in prison for his crimes due to the years he's sentenced, he should be able to opt out and go for the painless death. No forcing, no incentive, no coercion, death with dignity.

Honestly, with some prison reform I don't think we'd need 40-50 year life sentences as often because people could actually change. For those that can't, or who are too old to be able to change before their time served, the right to end it peacefully is something I think we all owe each other.

  • Those are not painless methods and they hearken to a sense of vengeance, not justice. If someone is truly so irredeemable that we cannot re-educate them to learn to be good citizens or at least non-offending citizens, then we should remove them from the ability to cause further harm. But we are not in the business of causing suffering, at least not on paper we're not. So we should give the person a civilized death with no pain, as causing pain is not justice, it's vengeance.

  • Yeah I'm big on shutting down anti-consumer practices. I don't want to restrict people's ability to shift around their inventory, but if you're heat mapping and psych consulting to boost the time people are lingering, it toes a line.

  • I think maybe it's pointless in the sense that the average shopper doesn't think it influences them. Statistically, it does, but they may not feel like it does.

It's still shitty, regardless of how effective it may appear. There's a reason the common items are always spread out, as I'm sure you know. Can't have someone grabbing milk, cheese, eggs, bread, and fruit all from the same section, then they'd miss the donuts and the cakes and the frozen pizas and the 'managers discount' almost expired meat section (I like almost expired meat, I'm poor too, but still)

  • I've raised a 13 year old, I was a 13 year old, I mentored 13 year olds for my job. No 13 year old just does that without existing problems or behavioral issues already present. Maybe not none, but the number is ridiculously small, I just don't want to deal in absolutes. Teenagers can be mean, they can be weird, they can be vindictive, but they're not so stupid or under developed that they can't think through the logic of hitting an authority figure with food or that it's potentially a protected action due to their age.

My solution has more to do with "no person should be made to do X job". Sewer workers, absolutely shitty job, necessary, no abuse though so it's okay. Lawyer? Guaranteed immunity to abuse from clients because you can easily say "fuck it" and drop their case. Teachers are stuck, they can't even stage a walk-out or protest without being threatened by the federal government. Kids can hit you, they can belittle you, they can be as mean as they'd like with no recourse because of shifting opinions about teachers' role in society. What's worse, they know it, and they abuse it. A lot of the kids I dealt with were through social services, so I get that some of them are almost doomed before they start because of how they were raised or what necessities they were struggling with at home. But that doesn't make their bad behavior the responsibility of someone who's just trying to get a paycheck and health insurance. Bad behavior shouldn't be on teachers or schools to solve/correct/plan around, it should be the parents (and don't get me started on how parents don't have the time to rear their kids properly due to the death of the single parent income model. With that in mind, correction of those behaviors should be dropped squarely at the parent/students' feet. If alternative school scares a kid, I hope it gives them a safe enough glimpse into what society is like when you can't operate within it.

  • I agree, gotta have patience to work in that field. Although I don't know if it's really a teacher's job to put up with that, I'm in favor of decreasing what constitutes as "fuck you and your kid" behavior. Kid throws a pizza at a teacher, fuck him, new school or alternative school the rest of the year or more, teachers aren't paid enough for that.

  • From a food travel show some time back, it seems that a lot of places cook them with the hair on. Not all from what I saw, but not unheard of so maybe it's a "don't remove the fish head/eyes, some people like it" kind or thing.

  • Oh that I couldn't answer. They probably are referencing a study where those options were listed. A lot of practicing Christians I know aren't even positive what they declare so they just put down non-denominational, I'm assuming 'Christian' was another good catch-all term that nabbed anyone who had a general belief in Christ but no organized practice of that belief.
