  • Tbh, mine just sit bare inside the light cover of my openers.

  • Availability is some of the issue as well. I was able to snag an Ioniq 5 in May because another guy's credit was rejected and I had called at the right time to add myself to the list for the new trim level.

I've been on the list at every dealer in SK for over a year and I've been called only twice, with both vehicles being the matte black. I don't know why they even send matte painted cars here, they're dirty the moment they're exposed to air.

Meanwhile, there are many Ioniq 5s collecting dust in dealer lots in the US.

  • Strong Towns is good too. They got a new media guy about 10 months ago and he's put out some great videos.

  • Doubly ironic that the specific topic of this post is that many people don't know what is included in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

  • Which parts of the Charter are corporations continuing to infringe on?

  • Until there's no financial incentive to do so, this will continue.

  • But it's blockable on websites. Firefox with ublock makes YouTube, Facebook, and instragam a relatively pleasant experience again.

  • Agreed, but it does say 'other folders coming soon'. So hopefully that wont take too long.

  • Assuming this is a family, it's kind of cool to see the variation of gene expression in the kitten's coats.

  • Calm down. I agree with you, I'm just saying mass shootings are only a small part of the gun violence issue, and would add that it's unlikely that government intervention would do much to impact overall instances of bullet contact, as many of the firearms are already unlawfully obtained in the first place.

  • Is this not a fairly cut and dry discriminatory firing case?

  • I was on mobile too, just on Firefox with ublock.

  • How are brakes needed more regularly? Most of the braking a normal driver would do is done by the motor(s). Sure, the vehicle is heavier than a similar sized ICE counterpart, but I would guess a typical driver is using one-pedal driving whenever possible. Anecdotally, I have an Ioniq 5 and brake almost exclusively with regen, whether it's I-pedal, or shifting between the four levels of regen when decelerating from higher speeds.

  • I just went on my annual visit. I'm not sure if it was ublock or what, but it was actually a fairly pleasant experience with no 'sponsored' content. Reminded me of the Facebook of old. Accessed through the browser, of course. I don't want that cancerous app on my phone.

  • EV maintenance cost is quite low compared to ICE vehicles. Brakes and suspension are probably the biggest wear items, but brakes have comparatively less wear because of the regen braking.

  • I'm not American, but have had a great interest in Malcolm Gladwell's Revisionist History podcast and his dive into America's past and current issues with gun violence. In the last episode I listened to, he interviewed several trauma surgeons, and they said they would likely not see a dent in gunshot victims arriving to trauma centres if mass shootings were to end tomorrow.

That, and the gun violence epidemic has been masked by improvements to trauma care. Essentially, gunshot wound treatment has improved so much that the reduction in murder rate can be significantly attributed to that. If victims survive, the crime is classified as aggravated assault and separate stats aren't even kept by PDs for the number of people shot versus other weapons. So, there's actually very poor to no available information on the prevalence of gun violence if the people who were shot survive.

  • And if that option wins, a pool of citizens who have marked that they'd be willing to serve a term in government get randomly selected from each riding to fill each seat. You can only serve if you haven't ran federally before.
