  • For tips, hide behind doors for as many strikes as possible.

I've definitely 'abused' the hell out of that. But at a certain point with the original, it seems like all the little tricks I learned hit an upper limit to their usefulness.

    The original was just brutal.

Try to enhance a Glaive with speed, from the Stone of Augmentation(stay with staff for mage). Then upgrade and add a glyph.

I'll definitely have to give that a try next time.

  • Notepad ++ is invaluable for writing code, I’ve used it for a long while now.

Not to pick an argument, but as a dev VSCodium has been a significantly better experience. It's a good text editor, it's got good search functionality, can be used as an IDE, and has good support through extensions.

And more of a shallow reason, it's got much better dark mode support.

  • Actual - Accounting/budgeting/etc

Wrote up a python script or three to handle parsing my bank CSV export files into an actually usable form, with automatic categorization, and so now I just do a periodic export and sync, and have all my financial records all in one place with some nice visualization, categorization, and budgeting features from Actual. It saves everything to a local sqlite db, so I can always jump ship to a different system if needed, and also itself provides a CSV export option.

    10/10 software, would recommend

  • But even fascists, neo-nazis and members of the white Christian nationalist movement deserve to have their rights respected (to the extent we can allow while preserving the safety of the community), which includes due process, and fair treatment while detained.

That is a separate, different issue than tolerance. You've moved the goal posts.

  • They're definitely lower down on the list, but execs still need to live somewhere, and a good chunk of them live nearby other people to some degree, which can make them a convenient target for those that live nearby.

If your neighbor* was an exec for McDonald's, you saw them for the evil that they are, and you had a terminal illness or suicidal ideation, you'd probably give your local exec a thought or too, even if there are bigger fish to fry.

using neighbor in a very loose sense here because of how they like to live in their own little gated communities

  • Those have been carved away as well

They have, though not completely. In the end, the rate at which such wealth is transfered through such a method is largely irrelevant, as it only effects the number of burgoise needed for the same effect. And as evidenced by this week's events, everybody* is ok with that, ignoring the increased difficulty.

  • Because there is no abstraction as leaky as a man waiting outside your hotel at 6:45 in the morning with a gun and murderous intent.

A leak like that is the type that keeps leaking. The system needs to change, and it eventually will, doubtfully but hopefully peacefully.
