Juries are specifically selected to avoid people capable of critical thinking, and people knowledgeable about jury nullification.
If it goes to trial his chances are slim. If he knows what's good from him, he's already in a foreign country with no extradition treaty, or halfway across the country in a remote section of wilderness laying low for the next few months.
The execs take perverse delight in the ways they rob the workers of their wealth, make them suffer, and leave them to die. They are cruel and oppressive. They aren't simply lap dogs, and not all of then are beholden to hire ups. Many of them like Bezos and Musk are the ones in charge.
If you work at a company, did you elect the execs of that company? Do you have any way within the system of the company to hold said execs in check when they abuse their power? Did you vote for the pay scale of the company? Did you vote on benefits packages?
The answer to all these is almost certainly no. The execs are the business equivalent of dictators. They are tyrants, even if "benevolent" or controlled by a higher up tyrant.
And we see the same thing happen on a country level on the world stage. Big powers will topple or influence small countries and install a dictator that is beholden to the big power. That doesn't make the dictator any less of a dictator just because they themselves are owned.
I'm about to repartition and reinstall everything. I'm very fucking tempted to drop this dual boot nonsense now that I have a good idea of what little I'd be losing.
Maybe, maybe not. There's no way to predict what direction technology will go with certainty.
It could be the case that it eventually becomes impossible to revolt due to technology being insurmountable. Maybe it won't be the case.
But what is certain is that people will revolt in mass if they have their backs against the wall and nothing to lose. And we've been circling the drain on that.
Unfortunately I’m afraid this will only be a very short term gain for society. In the longer term CEO-s will just muscle-up. They’ll hire a whole bunch more security and bodyguards, armored vehicles, taller, concrete fences around their properties and show their faces even less in public. All on company expense, so from our, their consumers’ money of course. They will become even more isolated, secluded and cut off from society, more paranoid and resentful about the rest of us, mere ‘plebs’.
All of their security needs to be working 100% correctly 100% of the time. Anyone going after them only needs one time with one opening. They can never be safe forever. Maybe it turns into sniper nests, maybe it turns into hacked together hobby drones with bombs.
At the end of the day there is nothing they can do if the 99% rise against them.
Jury nullification is most likely not going to happen. Speaking about it during selection will get you booted from selection, and being too obvious that it's your intent will get you booted.
With that said, it always is possible, even with a murder case like this. It is the logical consequence of a legal system such as ours were the jury cannot be forced to give a specific verdict, and the defendant cannot be tried twice.
There are plenty more 'death stars' to go around and implode. Hopefully we have more reason for celebration soon.
