I'm not party affiliated, but I will vote for the Democratic Party candidate. It wouldn't make any difference in my state, but I do it anyway. My state doesn't swing, so I will probably send some money to Democratic candidates in closest out-of-state Senate races (I don't waste money on sure winners or losers).
It's a hold-my-nose thing, since I'm really only about 50% in agreement with them. I tend to swing farther left on certain issues and near-libertarian-right on others. My primary concern at this point is averting a slide further into fascism. I've spent quite a bit of time in formerly-fascist countries and it's a messy thing to untangle. The scars last for generations.
That really depends on what my personal beliefs are being compared to. Compared to none, or to benign afterlife belief structures, probably very little. Compared to Hell-and-damnation or to Valhalla? Considerably more.
People will always want you to do stuff that's outside of your classification. The key is to be "too busy" when it doesn't advance your career, and willing to learn when it does. Ideally, you don't have to directly say no. When you hit the balance right, they stop asking.
I think the language you just used answered your own question: "manage to get". Those platforms, with likes and retweets, boosts (and to some degree, Karma) are competitive, everyone vying for increased following. Some might follow, comment, retweet or boost genuinely. Most are, at least subconsciously, looking to expand their personal influence.
That attitude obviously also exists here, but it's tempered by the lack of an endgame. It's harder to become Internet famous without a scorecard.
They make instant recirculation pumps that cycle the water through the tankless in a loop and stop when the hot water gets back to the pump. We have one. If you don't already have the return pipes for it, you'd need some additional plumbing work. (Either way, it should be professionally installed).
It's the same system you'd have for a tank, but it can't run all the time, or it burns up the heater. You have to trigger it. They make flow switches, but mine (new construction) was cheesed. I just set up a zigbee switch with a 1 minute timer to trigger the pump.
I believe this is the same issue with the other comment, taking what I wrote as a specific solution to a specific problem.
This issue of getting the police called is emblematic of a problem that dark-skinned people have, where they're considered to be inappropriate for natural areas.
What I was getting at is that there are specific rural areas, with unhinged residents and poor policing, where no outsider should go. If I choose to go, I should expect to provide my own personal protection. Those locations would be vastly multiplied if I had dark skin, to the point that it might become more expedient to just always carry.
I'm certainly not saying it would be appropriate for anyone to arm themselves while hiking in the Alps, or when dealing with police or benign racism.
It's basically a far more complex flavor, often with a little less sweetness. The biggest difference is that it's made with real ginger, so it has noticeable heat that varies by brand. It's also lightly fermented, not enough to make it alcoholic, but enough to deepen the flavor and allow for natural carbonation. Depending on the maker, it can be more or less filtered, so sometimes there's a little sediment or a cloudy appearance.
I actually prefer the heat of ginger beer, but since nobody makes an affordable version, I'll often settle for ginger ale. Between Verners and CD, I generally prefer Canada Dry. Verners has always seemed a bit too syrupy for my taste.
I've noticed there are a lot of German speakers on Lemmy, compared to other European languages. I'm curious, it a coincidence y'all ended up here, or was there early adoption in Germany for a more organized reason?
The problem I keep running into with cottage cheese is finding large curd. I went to the supermarket today and only managed to swipe one off of the restocking cart. There wasn't a single container on the shelf. I'm just not a fan of the smooth texture of the small curd, might as well eat ricotta.
I actually prefer Royal Crown over Coke and Pepsi. It's not a generic, but it's not top-shelf either. It works out well with the sales at the Supermarket, too. Often they'll do a 12-pack mix-and-match with RC, Canada Dry, Squirt, etc. all very tasty sodas.
I'm in the process of slowly replacing my screwed-up teeth, and ten minutes means a lot when you're in pain. I haven't had the liquigels in a very long time, but I'd consider buying them for the faster response time.
And maybe sneakily lower specs. They absolutely do that with televisions.
