  • I like how everyone is all "do what you want in the primary but just vote for Biden in the presidential election" but then you post this article about doing exactly that and get downvoted.

People are acting as if everything is going great and Biden isn't losing in the polls. Absolute insanity to just press ahead like everything is fine.

  • “The Israeli government has simply ignored the court’s ruling, and in some ways even intensified its repression, including further blocking lifesaving aid.”

So what are we going to do about it? Because it better fucking not be absolutely nothing. History will not be kind to us for our response to this.

If Israel is above the law, why not Putin? Why not Kim Jong Un?

  • The historical norm appears to be that even extremely brutal wars do not on their own radicalize the defeated population.

    What about Germany after WW1?

Maybe you're right about wars overall but I think it's quite different if innocent people were murdered en masse in an open air prison. The only way to stop the continued suffering is to overthrow the oppressor.

That would require an independent Palestinian state but somehow that doesn't seem likely.

  • I think the main issue is if you want to travel with it, yeah!

Usually the rule is that in your home you can have the allowance plus anything produced by the plants you grow legally. I'm not sure about Colorado specifically, but I read quite a few of these laws and all the ones I remember said that the excess produced by your plants is fine provided you store it appropriately.

But yeah you're just supposed to move it 28g at a time I guess?

  • Yeah I would love to see the de-radicalization program that works on a teenager whose entire family you just killed and whom you've isolated, dehumanized and put under siege his entire life.

Don't worry guys, Netanyahu has solved terrorism! We just needed to explain to them that it's wrong. Can't believe we never thought of that

  • I mean please someone stop the genocide, but maybe not Hezbollah?

I agree with you overall but I mean, is anyone else going to do it? We're at what, 30k dead now? I don't think we should wait until it's 60k or worse to actually do something. If Hezbollah are actually taking action then fair play to them.

Maybe a good analogy is Stalin bringing the USSR into the war against Hitler. Stalin is basically as bad as Hitler, but that action undoubtedly helped to bring the Nazi genocide to an end. I'm not sure it would have been better if he hadn't. Of course the best outcome would have been both of them dead but still

  • Currently, a foreign aid for Isreal is in the House, not on Bidens desk.

I know, I mentioned this. I feel like you maybe missed what I said but I think this will clear it up...

This article is dated November 17th, well after that event.

Which article? There is the main one from the post and the two I shared. None of them have this date.

Edit: lol well thanks for correcting the date in the edit. Of course the articles from February 17th refer to current plans, not the one you're taking about. And it also happened again in December.

  • Yeah good point! I will make an edit. I don't know the specifics but I meant "lawless" rather than implying a specific structure of a society. Thanks for that, I will also read about this some more

  • Either Israel has literally the worst intelligence agency in the world OR they are purposefully lying to justify destroying the necessities of life in Gaza as part of a campaign of genocide. Oh wow I wonder which one it could be what a mystery omg this conflict is so complicated

  • At the international level, society is essentially lawless. The only thing holding us together are the norms against committing heinous crimes which are barely held together by shaming and sanctioning. But we can't shame or sanction Israel because that would be anti-Semitic. So now the anarchy is naked, on display, and signalling to the entire world of warmongering assholes that it you stick your fingers in your ears and scream about terrorists hard enough, there are no consequences for what you do.

For that, every single world leader who backed Israel, made pathetic excuses for its crimes, and refused to acknowledge obvious violations of international law should have our contempt. I am ashamed of my home country, the country I live in, and many nations who I thought more of. Biden has made himself an accessory to genocide.

I'm not sure there is any going back. The West has lost it's tenuous moral authority and the respect of me and I'm sure many other people. Just like how we look back at the holocaust and wonder how it could have gone that far, we will look back at what's happening right now with horror and shame. We will have to explain to new generations how so many countries of the world just watched on as it unfolded and how we had to sit, helplessly watching a feed of constant tragedy and war crimes through our phone screens.
