  • Olive in french. Boring word I guess.

  • I think the point virgule depends if you're from France or Québec. I learned it with no space before it and seems this table confirms that. This similar one from a Quebec source seems to be saying you can do either.

  • Nah not at all tbh, you can get very smooth deceleration with it and it doesn't feel floaty or whatever, it does take a tiny adjustment to how you drive, you don't coast anymore but rather you can finely control your deceleration by how much you lift the accelerator, it's quite nice to be honest I always drive it in that mode (even if it's not real one pedal).

  • I think some cars also turn on the hazards automatically if you really hammer the breaks.

  • Yeah my electric 208 is kinda like that (if I remember the video well, watched it a while ago) but since it's Europe there actually is a regulation about how much a car can decelerate before break lights come on, so instead of making the system turn the lights on they throttle how much it can decelerate for recharge and still makes you use the break to use full regen (and eventually the actual brakes, of course). So it's not a real "one pedal driving".

  • If we're thinking of the same ones they just look like full throttle/tilt forward to me!

  • Is that even beta flight? Never seen it configured like this, I know that's what they were using at the beginning because that was basically the only FPV software available, but maybe they have a new "military-grade" one now?

Also it's interesting to see the different flying styles, some of them are like "let me carefully position myself slowly right next to this wing, yesss just right", meanwhile their buddy just flies full speed ahead straight into it.

  • That person clearly never jumped/fell into one.

  • It shows me having given a ton of downvotes I didn't give, on comments I only read and didn't up or down-vote.

  • I just mean that in normal life, how often do you really get mad enough at someone that you hang up on them? I can probably count that on one hand and I'm not exactly a youngun either. In movies it feels like every other phone call ended that way haha.

  • Which is probably why they were freaking out trying to get you to move. Don't get me wrong it's been fun when I drove the autobahns as a tourist trying my best to respect the unwritten (and written) rules, and pushing my car like I can't do elsewhere, but god damn was it bad for my blood pressure!

  • This is particularly painful for all these middle-men companies like booking.com, eBay/equivalents, Uber, etc etc. So much wasted resources that is literally only there to extract as much as they can from transactions between two other parties, really all that's needed from these services is a functioning platform, something 3 motivated engineers could probably maintain (exaggerating for effect).

All this stuff should be either open source or nationalised.

  • I feel like this was more one of these movie things that don't happen nearly as often in real life.

  • I'd love to have "cocaine light" available, maybe not chewing the leaves but in some form or another, that is less intense than the well known powder. Basically just a step above coffee, would be amazing for my long work days.

  • Leuk, there's something cool about being able to listen to an ad for crypto on a device made when cheques were the new rage.

  • Classic LinkedIn, I read a post and roll my eyes the whole time, then the comments are like "well said my good sir! Your business wisdom will change the world, one CV at a time! I'll apply this and become an even better pawn to my corporate overlords, yes!"

  • I, too, have a hard time reconciling a private, extremely expensive education facility catering to the 1% as "leftists".

  • As a non-parisian French I've hated it my whole life but even I need to admit I'm recent years it's been transforming for the better.

  • Can it still receive regular radio too?
