What's the most frustrating experience you've had with a website? (Sign-up, form, downloads, etc.)

  • Probably Civitai bcus

    • so goddam (slow|bloated) , uses tonnes of (CPU|GPU)
    • barely working search function apparently so bad peops had to make 3rd party websites just to search civitai bcus performance so bad
    • login-gated downloads , they don't let you use passwords , login email only
    • Can't even view model info if marked sensitive , so forced to login for that tꝏ

  • Imagine big ball of hair wound up tight as it can be . You try extracting stand of hair from this wad only for it to break half way through . This's what brain shit's like for me

    's not even COUNTING the fact I hafta somehow translate that into words human beings can understand , bcus existing in human body means am forced to ⦅socialise|communicate) with|relate to) humans, then try stringing the words together into some thing only somewhat coherent)

  • Had hand-me-down iPhone 4s that I thought wasz THE shit design wise . Modern phones aping it's lꝏk now and am glad for it !

    Still have that phone , but unusable bcus forgor apple credentials for it

  • Just the colour choices I don't care for . There's this kinds weird thing they do where background elements desaturated pastel , but then accent colours still pastel but super saturated that just lꝏks ugly to me

    Previously on my non monet supported device , had to either (download app that let's me set apps as greyscale|put up with bleh colours) . Ofc that has drawbacks where if app somewhat image heavy , am forced to keep it in coloured mode

  • There's 1️⃣ unique draw to the fediverse : depending on service , you can (view|interact with) all different kinds of posts without (necessarily) needing to create separate accounts for different services (experience will vary depending on what software your instance runs though) . Examples :

    • Can view (peertube|pixelfed|lemmy|.) posts directly from your mastodon account
    • [km]bin are threadiverse softwares that also allow you to (view|post) the twitterlike style posts you see on (mastodon|(.)(oma|key)|.) instances and not just reddit style threadiverse posts

    … but that's about where tangible benefits end IMO . Fediverse only better in (technical|data privacy|potentiality) sense , may be more resistant to enshittification (tangent : wish there was better word for this , "enshittification" sounds kinda stupid IMHO) but don't believe it's completely immune

    Also I've seen enough fedimeta to know "run by huge dickwads" not (exclusive to centralised services|isolated issue) . Every other big fediverse (instance|project) feels like it's managed by temporarily embarrassed (Elon musk|matt mullenweg)s , so like , pick your poison !

  • No , empathy's not really tied to how much money one has . Everyone has varying empathy levels . Empathy ≠ kindness

    Some one could be very rich and still have empathy and still be terrible person . Because empathy isn't what determines some one's morality
