  • YouTube is also aggravating customers who use their official apps by increasing the frequency and length of the ads. In just 4-5 months, I've seen YouTube ad lengths on Roku go from 10-15 seconds to 30 seconds, to a minute.

They're trying to recoup lost ad revenue by pissing off the one demographc most likely to sit in front of the TV the longest.

  • "Why are our sales plummeting?"

Because you didn't spend any part of that price hike on improving the quality of your food.

  • "Butters? Are you on Twitter?"

    "No Dad! Just watching porn!"

  • 1980's conservatives: "Why don't you move to Russia if you don't like it here?"

2020's conservatives: "Why don't we move to Russia if we don't like it here?"

  • Trump later claimed that he may have drawn more supporters on Jan. 6, 2021 than “Martin Luther King when he did his speech.”

    1. Lol, No. And
    2. Make sure you remind people about January 6th as often as possible, Donald. You know, the day you tried to overthrow the government. You absolute idiot.
  • It probably happened. If you've shown the whole world that you bomb refugee camps and international food relief convoys, then you don't get "the benefit of the doubt" anymore.

  • The problem with media platforms like Reddit and Twitter is that they take place in a single Instance, with thousands of communities. So it's easy for one person (like an Elon Musk) to completely screw it up for millions of people.

With Lemmy, everything is decentralized. Communities are spread out and duplicated over hundreds of Instances in many countries. So if somebody ruins one Instance or community, people can just hop over to the second or third most popular Instance, and the original instance will dry up and disappear.

  • I haven't had any problems running my Steam library under Linux Mint. Older games, like Deus Ex and Giants: Citizen Kabuto I can run directly in Wine.

If I could get Vortex Mod Manager working properly under Linux, I wouldn't need Windows at all.

  • You literally told your advertisers to go fark themselves, Elmo. Several times. This is what consequences look like.

  • Google's motto in 2003: "Don't be evil."

They sure let that motto slide.

  • UBlock for Chrome is going away, no matter what Google says about Manifest.

  • Trump says the quiet part ("I am totally bribe-able") out loud, all the time because he's a complete freaking idiot. There is no filter between his mouth and what's left of his brain.

This is the real Trump. The moron. This isn't "off the cuff","exaggeration" or "locker room talk" Believe people when they show you what they really are.

  • This. It feels to me like driving a stick shift when you've been using an automatic transmission for years. You have to do a little more fiddling but I honestly don't mind learning a new OS that isn't actively working against me.

With Windows . . . on the other hand . . . every time I've had to go "under the hood" (tweak Registry settings, Config files, etc) it's been to prevent Microsoft from doing something crappy to me.

  • You might want to check out Libre Office. It's document compatible with MS-Office and I think it comes pre-installed on Linux Mint.

  • I guess Intel needed that QA team, after all.

  • Although the problem is with the hood latch, as with many Tesla safety recalls, the problem can be fixed with an over-the-air software patch

This is what happens when you run all the car's mechanical and electronic switches though some cheap, sh*tty tablet interface. Instead of directly wiring them to lights on the dashboard.

  • I checked out Mod Organizer 2 recently, but it didn't support Subnautica the last time I tried it. I only use mods for a few games, line Stardew Valley and the Fallout games.

  • Any time a lawmaker says they are doing something "for the children" you are being played. They are always up to something sh*tty.
