Also, if your moderator is rejecting Wikipedia links as "propaganda" then they have no business being a moderator. Wikipedia is one of the last, best sources of information on the Internet that isn't biased, corporate-sponsored bullsh*t. Those mods are either UP TO something or have been bonked on the head.

Since you're never going to win an argument with a moderator with an agenda, you can save yourself a lot of drama and pain by moving to a community that is beyond their reach.

One of best features about Lemmy is that you can deal with abusive, power-tripping mods by switching to the same community in another Instance.

If enough people feel the same way you do, then THAT community will be become the "official" one (based on the number of subscribers) and the old community will wither and die.

It's either that or they justify these repressive laws by saying men are lustful beasts who can never be trusted to contain their impulses. (And therefore those laws are for their "protection.")

This is an attitude shared by all of the "girls have cooties" religions.

The point is that it's a class war. It always has been. It's about a system of government where the country's wealth is concentrated into a small, ruling class of billionaires, who use the media they own to keep the lower classes fighting with each other while they . . . the rich . . . run off with all the farking money.

There's nothing wrong with the business model of selling older games at affordable prices. This is about poor management. (Or deliberately bad management by a "CEO" who was hired to destroy GOG to remove a popular choice from us).

Depends on whether the dictatorship is competent or incompetent. Businesses need years of lead time to negotiate deals, build factories, make a profit. But they can't make plans for the future with a government that is run by idiots. That's a guaranteed money-loser.

Every game I bought on Steam under Windows runs great on Steam in Linux Mint. The few games I didn't buy on Steam (Deus Ex, Giants: Citizen Kabuto) run great on Wine, using the default settings.

Adopting Proton was the smartest thing Valve ever did. They're going to get about 90% of gamers migrating from Windows to Linux, who don't want to fiddle with configuration settings.

Yeah, trying to upcharge this from murder to "terrorism" is going to backfire spectacularly in the prosecutor's face.
