  • A media player that isn't just a modified android tablet in a box with an HDMI output. (And loaded with spyware). And doesn't require an always-on internet connection.

  • Yup. If your company is too cheap to do pizza parties anymore then either the pizza is too expensive for them to provide (bad sign) or management can't spare you being off the clock for an hour (another bad sign).

  • What was it last week? China had invented Internet hardware that was 5,000 times faster than any current hardware? And a few weeks earlier, they had built a new particle accelerator more powerful than the one at CERN? If you're going to make shit up, at least make it believable.

I suppose next week, China is going to invent Cold Fusion. And the week after that, they'll put the first man on Mars!

  • I still have an old, Viewsonic media player. I wish I could find a modern one that didn't need an always-on Internet connection.

  • A . . . "final solution" you might say.

  • What's a horchata?

  • Giving you contradictory orders is standard operating procedure for cops whenever they need an excuse to abuse or kill you.

    "Get on the ground!"

    "Don’t move!"

"I SAID GET ON THE GROUND!"

    "I SAID DON’T F*CKING MOVE!"

"Disperse or you'll be fired upon!"

Kettles (concentrates) protestors into a small area and keeps them from dispersing.

  • Basically, resist. Do not comply in advance. Make them fire you. Challenge that firing in court.

  • I think a better question is, how do we make our elected representatives care? (The answer, of course, is by not electing a**holes, but that's not going to happen until people really start to suffer).

  • The "1 trillion" never existed in the first place. It was all hype by a bunch of Tech-Bros, huffing each other's farts.

  • I like the SearX search engine. It gives old-school, relevant search results, not google ranked ones.

    https://search.inetol.net/

It's also spread out over many separate instances, so you can pick the one that best suits your search needs:

  • Trump himself was a visitor to Epstein's pedo island. A lot of rich people were there as well and there are lists and proof of it. The notion that Epstein killed himself in his own jail cell is ridiculous. A lot of people wanted to see him dead.

  • "The good of the people" is a noble goal. The problem is that for the most part, people who deliberately seek power to lead these groups are vain, greedy, selfish, brutal assholes.

Collectivism, as Karl Marx wrote it, has never been practiced in any so-called "communist" country on Earth. It's always been an oligarchy.

  • Dear News Media. Your job is speaking truth to power, which means you're going to make a lot of enemies. So unlike other big companies, the point of your legal department is to get you OUT of trouble, not to keep you from ever getting into it. Having principles in the business world isn't cheap or easy. Nothing worthwhile ever is.

  • So why is CBS affiliate WDJT-TV in Milwaukee Wisconsin defending the speech of an apartheid-loving fascist who did a full-on nazi salute on national TV? And if that's not what they're doing, then why did they fire that reporter?

That's the question that every real news outlet should be asking.

  • "likened to a Nazi salute."

Come on, BBC. It was more obvious than a sunrise what that was.

  • Also, resist any government mandates that want to know where/ how many jews trans people are in your department. It's not your job to help anyone make other people's lives miserable.

  • Welp

  • What exactly is the "context" for doing a full-on nazi salute? Other than to show everyone that you're a nazi?

  • CNN is already sane-washing this, referring to Musk's "odd gesture."

  • Yup. CNN deserves a gold medal for mental gymnastics.
