That's what I love about "right to strike" laws...like how are you going to tell me you own my labor and I'm not allowed to exercise my right to withhold it unless I obtain your permission? Capitalism be wylin
You give that Neanderthal brain of hers too much credit. Sad truth is that for her audience, all of those things she called out are considered negatives because they cut into their bottom line. They know right from wrong, they just don't give a fuck if it means making a little more at the end of the day
When your base position is "blow everything up" then there not much argument or discussion to be had. We fundamentally disagree on first principles so any discussion will be spent taking past each other.
As for my comment above, it was reductive and juvenile, but it was directly in response to a reductive and juvenile proposition (blow the entire system up). I will not spend time discussing why that particular position is harmful and absurd.
So stop the impending societal collapse by...hastening societal collapse?
There is a conversation to be had about reforms that absolutely need to be driven in the progressive arm of the Democratic party in general, but that is a separate conversation and one to be had through primary votes and reform (at least in the current iteration of the electoral system). What you're advocating above is the equivalent of shooting myself in the dick to prevent an oncoming car from hitting me. The car is still going to hit me, but now I'll also have a blown off dick.
He doesn't have to fight for me, but he's most certainly not actively fighting against me. There is a big difference between a party rooted in corruption and too busy stuffing their own pockets to care, and a party rooted in corruption that's actively scapegoating the vulnerable, minorities, and the non-wealthy in order to enrich itself.
I put it off for years and finally picked it up this past December and man I wish I'd picked it up sooner. May be my favorite gaming experience of the last decade. And I loved the direction they took with Aloy as a character. Can't wait to try Forbidden West soon
Aside from the margin differences, there's also the fact that companies make what the consumer will buy. The median American consumer is simply not interested in the type of vehicle described above. Outside of major city centers the US is still largely suburban and spread out and while I would personally love to see the same thing as the poster above in more densely populated areas, general mass adoption would require a significant paradigm shift on the part of the consumer.
I've always found doom and gloom reports like this amusing for this very reason. Yes the traditional approaches and value generating strategies may go away, but smart businesses and individuals will have brand new opportunities to fill the gap and innovate. It's only those who reduse to or are not capable of adapting that stand to gain from the status quo.
It's insane that we as a society are even having the debate between pushing capital investment strategies to adapt and come into the 21st century or dragging globally-distributed workers back to the 20th century just to avoid short-term pain and costs associated with updating outdated laws, tax incentives, and capital business practices.
Personal morality alignment aside, the fact is those who support right wing policies and candidates, and those who identiy as 'right wingers' either explicitly or implicitly support right wing policies. These have time and time again been shown in practice to widen the inequality gap, suppress wages and purchasing power for non-capital owners, disproportionately reward corporate greed, roll back regulations put in place to preserve general health and welfare, decrease healthcare access and standards (same with education), disenfranchise minorities...etc.
