As someone with asthma and lowered ability to cycle out CO2, yawning has always helped me restore the "full" feeling and your comment just made everything snap into place.

The primary driver of suffocation panic, pain, and feeling of air starvation isn't the lack of oxygen but CO2 buildup. It makes sense that yawning on command could then help alleviate the symptoms of CO2 buildup in asthma sufferers.

This has been my experience as well. There are a lot of great things they're discussing over there and in general I do like the fact that they challenge the Western-driven beliefs on politics/economics, however, the vitriol against anyone else less hardlined left and not anti-NATO/anti-West is disappointing and a put off. While I agree that capitalism is an immoral and abhorrent system, and have many qualms with the IMFand military driven western hegemony, I don't see anything I the Russian or Chinese leadership that suggests either of those are any better. They're oppression in a different coat. But saying that on the instance gets you labeled as someone who's still sucking down western propaganda, without an ounce of irony re: CPC and Russian propaganda systems

Great writeup. I found the background the movie was screened against and the zeitgeist that permeated culture at the time extremely interesting. In many ways it sounds like the exact 180 of where we find ourselves culturally these days. I do wonder if we'll see a similar series of generation-defining films over the next few years that attempt to inspire the same type of cultural revolution in the other direction.

Cool story about a world I wasn't even aware of. It's interesting how creative people get when it comes to turning a buck.

Makes perfect sense for China to move in and assert itself a bit more strongly on the global political stage. Will be interesting to see how the relationship plays into any official responses to future expansion and war efforts by Israel.
