I think it is both.

The Commission found that Apple fails to comply with this obligation. Due to a number of restrictions imposed by Apple, app developers cannot fully benefit from the advantages of alternative distribution channels outside the App Store. Similarly, consumers cannot fully benefit from alternative and cheaper offers as Apple prevents app developers from directly informing consumers of such offers. The company has failed to demonstrate that these restrictions are objectively necessary and proportionate.

They just got hit with a fine for not complying properly. So so far nothing. But the eu did not call it a day yet.

On top of the fine they are still required to comply and they will be hit with bigger and bigger fines.

It is. All recipes I have seen use weight. It wouldnt surprise me to see an american recipe use "2 bald eagle heads worth of sugar".

Ugh, and the code is so bad. I love it!

I think the real solution is repairable gadgets. A microusb port costs pennies and if the phones were repairable at all, it would be a 5 minute solder job. The same is true for USB C as well. It might be more durable, but it can still break and it feels so stupid to replace a decive because a single cheap part broke.

I liked microusb. I don't know what everyone is doing with their connectors, but I never had any contact issues.
