  • This Macron guy is really trying to make people hate him isn't he. At this point it feels like he actually wants the French to burn shit.

  • Never played it. Should I?

  • Hopefully people's weird hang up about gender all together won't be around in 100 years.

  • You also have a 99% literacy rate and invest heavily in your education sector.

  • Australia needs to invest way more into research and development overall. It's really quite sad that governments don't understand the value of programs like this and the Antarctica one.

  • Dangle away. I guarantee you we won't do shit to stop the reef from dying. Y'all need to smash us with tariffs and trade sanctions.

  • Australian here. Sorry to be a downer but it won't. I'm honestly shocked UNESCO made this decision and am concerned about political interference from our government. We're experiencing warming faster than the rest of the world. Last I saw we're at 1.4 degrees and 1.5 is when coral bleaching events are predicted to cause wide spread devastation of the reef. Do not believe anything our government says. They are currently still approving the opening of new coal and gas mines (some of them are the largest fossil fuel projects in history). The run off from the coal projects (especially in qld where the reef is) contribute to poor water quality which impacts the reef.

Australia is one of the world's worst actors on climate change. One of our states just passed a law making it a criminal offence (with jail time) to protest climate inaction. I love my country but we deserve so much more criticism than we get.

  • I try to set a time in which I can't eat junk food until. Start with after lunch say 1pm and then try to extend that each day / weekend. I find having rules that I can judge myself on is better than goals when it comes to junk food.

  • We have a similar thing in Australia with our supermarkets, airlines and media. Our governments have been equally as stagnant in trying to change things. Housing and utility prices are fucked as well.

  • There arn't really specific mutual aid programs here in aus but a lot our community services are built on mutual aid principles. Our egalitarian values actually sort of go well with mutual aid as well i think. But technically our community legal centres are a form of mutual aid, even though they're government funded. So are community centres that do community pantries and stuff like that. Certain communities were also somewhat forced into mutual aid set ups during recent flooding and bushfire events.

  • As an autistic person I love interacting with people like you.

  • I will say it did feel good to get that out! Since the findings of this likely won't be taken seriously by the government I suggested that it should be illegal for property developers to donate to political parties.

  • I've graded papers from students who obviously used chatGPT to write them. They were a pass at best. Zero critical synthesis of ideas and application of them to the topic. I'm sure chatGPT has its uses but people really overhype its writing ability. There's more to writing than putting words in the right places.

  • Probably a good thing that they're taking concussion seriously at least. When I played soccer as a kid they didn't give a shit about concussions.

  • This is unfortunately commonplace in academia and doesn't surprise me at all.

  • High school essays require a higher referencing standard than this.
