I do a lot of analytical work in my wider Team, and wanted to start adding Python to the arsenal, and have now just got access to Pycharm.
Wondering if there was anyone in a similar space (Data/Analytics), and was keen to hear some of the reasons you use Python, and how its incorporated into your workflow?
That's sort of my line of thinking. Had some good results with a off-the-shelf rub for some lamb shanks last week, and will probably be looking at some sort of Peri-peri marinade/sauce/rub type thing.
True. Come to think of it - I actually did do a bit of a fiction reading a few years ago, and that was the Dan Brown Series. Really enjoyed the fast pace of those.
I have a hard time looking at a fiction book, and making the decision whether I would enjoy it or not - seems more hit and miss than non-fiction for some reason to me.
I go on spurts of reading, and then not reading for a bit.
I used to always think that I didn't like reading, but I've now learned that I don't like reading Fiction, but really like reading Non-Fiction. I think because when you are at school, most of the prescribed reading is Fiction, I assumed I hated reading in general.
Now I'll read a handful of books a year, mostly in a row, then take a break for a bit until something piques my interest.
Good point - not much increased cost tbh. I'll see how we get on, and see if our usage patterns have changed. Previously, we never really felt any limitations with 300Mbps fiber.
We don't really find ourselves downloading much of anything - mostly just games for the partner. Everything else seems to be streamed these days. I might revisit at a later date if our habits change 👍
Next question - Anyone have some experience between 300Mbps vs Gigabit Fibre? Any noticeable difference? It's just the two of us (though we have some family coming over over xmas), so I don't think we generate that much traffic.
Urghh, It was rubbish day yesterday, I noticed as I was driving out that someone had put a bit of Styrofoam packaging in our recycling bin. Wasn't too fussed about it - maybe they didn't know you can't recycle that in Auckland. But as I came back home and went to take the Styrofoam out, I saw that someone had put a whole bunch of little things in. Most of it recycling (which I don't mind at all), but some of it was just wrappers etc. Hopefully this isn't a recurring theme.
I've had previous employers that talk the talk, but don't really walk the walk when it comes to development.
My current employers (especially my manager) is really good about self development. As long as I outline what I want to do and why, I feel they truly support me learning new skills.
