  • Not in school.

But i have written a .bat scipt in notepad on an unlocked laptop in a store

Then added the script into the startup folder.

The script would restart the pc after 30 seconds.

    shutdown -r -t 30

(R for restart, t for time, 30 means 30 seconds) its harmless.. but also super frustrating

Write it in a notepad file. Save it as a .bat file

  • im studying CS

    im in the late 30s

i've been a tech enthusiast for a bit more than 30 years

    i dont use linux though

More users will come. it's all about the memes and fun discussions though. Memes is what drew me towards reddit. i just wanted to "scroll" for some entertainment, when i first found the site.

and being able to google, and finding reddit links helps.

i've yet to find a link to lemmy, by googling anything - even if i include the word lemmy.

On reddit we had a ton of "general" hobby subreddits. houseplants, cast iron, woodworking etc

i've not been searching for specific communities (search doesnt work super well i think) but i've yet to randomyl spot any communities that fall in to that category. it's mostly.. tech related subreddits.

the "common folk" wants hobbies, sports, news, etc.

  • i've seen quite a lot of content from tiktok, over on reddit (basically a repost?)

I refuse to go on tiktok myself

But i will gladly watch a 30 second clip if its funny or interesting, regardless of where it originally came from.

i've already seen older memes reposted here anyway. not like we can avoid it...

  • including voice

how else would facebook live and such work?

i mean some of these makes sense

but its also a question of ... does the app use all these things, all the time?

    do we know?

On my mac i have to allow discord to record my voice etc. if i dont, i can still use the app but i cant talk in a voice call, and such.

i'd like if apps did similar, on phones. they'd work but some functions would just be unavailable
