  • But can people find your question on lemmy by googling?

coz thats how i personally found reddit back in the day. And i'm sure it is part of how reddit grew to what it is today.

If google cant find you, you cannot be a success, is my guess. But of course, NOT being found on google has it advantages too.

I can find this topic by searching on lemmy

but i cannot search comments, which limits the usability somewhat

  • so.. android is based on linux, right?

so i can use the terminal on android, so i can run a VM with linux?

    linux in linux.

i mean sure - i see the possibilities that this opens up but i also dont see why i'd want to do that - on a phone.

i am looking forward to the terminal though - sounds juicy!

  • people choose consoles over pcs for comfort

people choose pc for its capabilities (and for some, a different kind of comfort)

people choose vr for the experience only - and it can get old quite quickly because the market is too small - not enough 'content'

  • 30% seems rather high

but... when they handle payments, refunds, advertising (within their application) and game download costs (server infrastructure?), etc etc etc. it doesnt seem that crazy.

at least, for a lot of indie developers, not having to worry about those things, might easily be worth those 30%

  • This is a good idea.

Honestly, it really is. Lots of people prefer a specific browser, for different reasons. And a lot of people use more than 1 browser as well.

It could be similar to the 'choose your search engine' was supposed to help against googles monopoly (in eu) https://i.imgur.com/3wS6Sai.png

however i dont see this coming to windows or macos, because of those companies focus on being the only company in the world. but this could easily be used on linux. (even though most users of linux prefer firefox, i'd guess)

  • Indeed

i am not spending a fucking dime on anything that Elon Musk earns money on

i even deleted my twitter account when he bought it

But, even though Elon is an ass, the way tesla handles repairs on their cars, makes me not want to own one anyway. I wanna just use my local mechanic. Not exclusively teslas own

  • So you only allow people to download, if they already downloaded something and put it in a proper folder?

    so no noobs allowed?

its like those circles of you need experience to get a job, but you need job to get experience
