Hey, I just read this in the past week. Thank you, this was one of those pieces that opened my third eye a little more. Should be required reading.

The problem is humanity gains nothing from celebrating it either. Humanity would only gain something from seeing him held responsible for his actions. This is just what we have to settle for short of that. He might as well have been hit by a bus. Yeah, we can have some schadenfreude at his expense, but we can't hope for any justice.

I guess it's hard to celebrate cancer, given we all know someone who's suffered and died from it. He deserves to be put on trial, not this.

I can only assume "rewriting" and "falsifying" by "casting our milestones in a negative light," refers to any candid statements that refuse to whitewash or censor America's unflattering history and that of the bastards which built it. I have to assume this because the language fails to ever specify what horrible lies are being told about America, just that a couple Smithsonian exhibits are too woke for JD Vance.

You're getting "doggied" because of your idiotic reflexive assumptions, not because you've "cast doubt" on anything. To cast doubt, you would need arguments with evidence. There's no evidence that suicide stats are being fabricated, you just assume they are because NK bad because news said literally 1984 so anything not bad must be fake. Most people are not this easily persuaded.

Trump just needs/wants to look strong, manly, in control. It excites his base and he thrives on whatever attention he gets, good or bad. It has nothing to do with getting what he wants from the target of these demands. It's also the foot-in-the-door technique scaled way up, with the added bonus that by the time he's "settled" for less than what he asked for, the news cycle will have fixated on the next absurd thing he said or did.
