People should expect more optimization for the games they look into and better price for performance offerings for hardware. Approach of just pushing what is acceptable further into the category of the premium tier leads to worse consumer offerings over the long run. What is considered acceptable hardware has gotten more and more out of reach each generation while disposable income has not kept up.

Complacency and constantly falling scale of what is acceptable is what leads to worse standards. Bad prices and optimization should not get passes. PR management of be happy with hardware or performance is not the job of consumers aside from those who are being paid to run those type of campaigns.

Products are just products designed to get money out of people. I don't have an appreciation like its some sports team for them. It comes down to simply if it is worth spending money on or not. Being entitled is a good thing, since it encourages less consumerist behavior with how lot of people can use less frivolous spending in their lives.

You can try to spin it as a negative, but I find this hail corporation approach to consumerism very odd. Wanting more value for the money is a good standard to have.

Why do people use entitled like it is a bad thing? Why wouldn't consumers be entitled as opposed to spending money as though it is an act of charity? Pretty weird how mindset of gamers over the years has shifted in a way where the fact that they are consumers has been forgotten.

I don't pay sticker price and I don't pay more than the historical low. So I'll just wait longer if a game does that, or end up not buying it at all as other games catch my interest. I have games that have been on my wishlist for years that I've had to go and clean out.

Yeah, just setting a bookmark would make it easy to follow the subs you are interested in. If it is the old.reddit interface you want can just set it to like old.reddit.com/r/sub1+sub2+sub3+sub4. Or get the old reddit redirect extension that will automatically turn any reddit links into the old reddit interface.

I definitely do not wish to see a push towards content that is created for the purposes of trying to monetize or self promote for the purposes of making money. The shilling is the worst part of lot of plarforms because of corporate interests that need to recoup costs or want to have a successful IPO so leads to inevitable ways to monetize users and monetizing users.

Leave the popular crowd drawing shills on the corporate platforms. While it would be nice for the fediverse to have more niche thriving communities if it means becoming filled with shills then at that point why even bother with the fediverse.

Strong ideologically driven instances may be more invested in spreading the gospel, so depending on the frequency of posts that populate /c/all and topics that garner a lot of attention it can lead to certain instances standing out compared to more generic ones. It's kind of becomes like someone sporting a sports jersey versus others that might just be more generic clothing as an example.

Maybe better example might be like how people assume things by the bumper stickers people have on their cars, or signs and flags they choose to display in front of their houses compared to the general neighborhood. There's some passion that may be assumed.

I think the biggest argument against headphone jack taking up space is the existence of the Samsung Ultra with the Spen. Samsung has an excuse for the Ultra not having a headphone jack with the space dedicated to the Spen. But, most phones don't have a built in stylus, so what's the excuse for them. Not like phones have gotten tinier. How is the spen a technological possibility, but headphone is being made to be some technological difficultly that is more difficult to overcome?

Never had those problems of the phones with headphone jacks I've used. Feels like an exaggeration of problems being made like an infomercial.

Not like people really can these days. Options get even narrower if people start putting in settings they need like good software support and unlockable bootloader. Despite the many options there isn't really a phone that doesn't have some sort of concession to it despite the increasing price points.

Most I paid for a game subscription was the $1 3 month game pass. I don't see myself paying for a regular priced month subscription like $10/month. I'd rather spend that buying a month of Humble monthly or a discounted game.
