I liked that it wasn't front in center, since I was there for the user comments but without wanting to follow or remember any users. Liked how everything just blended into a bunch of anons without the attempt to get noticed and get followers that other social media strongly emphasizes. Was one of the reasons I hated the move to new.reddit and stuck with old.reddit.
First foss product I remember using was VLC, but what made me start seeking out Foss was F-droid with how I got tired of constantly trying to find something without unnecessary permissions, ads, or IAP.
That was what made me understand the true value of foss, and not just because something isn't paid with the intent of profiting doesn't mean it is worse. It can sometimes be much better and more respecting of your privacy with how hungry for telemetry companies are these days.
Yep, that people continue to have the strongest reaction to deleting content shows that it is the only thing that has any impact, since it actually costs something unlike other actions that are as useful as virtue signaling.
All those old archives is what leads to click throughs and creation of new accounts too. I'm not sure why people think it just exists in a time capsule. After all that's how lot of people end up creating accounts. Discovering they like the content or community after being recommended it by another user or search engine, and joining and contributing to it.
And there's always archive.org too that backs up content.
Yeah, one of things that stood out was how much Apple tries to push signing into account too. And compared to Linux doesn't seem like you can use their App store without logging in on MacOS compared to Linux App Store.
I was upset when PS4 moved to paid online and never ever paid for PS+, and only got single player exclusives for it. But as time passed saw that I was in the minority and that other people fell in line and paid for PS+ and even argued for why paying for online was necessary.
So I expect the same to happen. When this is people complaining about a price increase a opposed to being against paying for online I expect people to keep financially supporting the subscription model enough for Sony to keep moving forward and be happy with the money.
I ran shreddit to delete rest of my comments off the GDPR files that power delete suite missed. And it's really fun seeing everything be deleted as the script is run.
And it's capable of productivity with free tools like blender, visual studio code, and da vinci resolve. So that extra hardware can be used beyond just gaming.
I never did. I only got a PS4 for single player exclusives back in the day. Refused to pay for online access and had no interest in paying a monthly fee for rentals when I already had a backlog. And had my PC for everything else.
My guess is it was pulled in response to people who complained saying things like timing of the video seems like you are just posting it to get views, or taking it as calling out LTT again. Not saying video is like that, but that's my guess as to them pulling it to avoid angering some fanbases too much so being overly cautious and choosing to read the room.
I wonder how much stuff like streaming and esports contributed to PC gaming growing in Japan.
