  • Gamers are the group I expect to care that least about whatever is going on as long as they can play a game. On reddit too so few of them were even willing to protest use of a subreddit which is the most low effort thing.

I think it's more appropriate to say Dota gamer community doesn't care.

  • Steam deck was how I got around to and finished it after having been in my backlog for years and years. It's been helpful with the suspend feature making it easy to pick up and shut off for a quick session, and didn't run into issues on the Deck with it.

  • I played this through the steam deck and the art style aged I credibly well and the story and voice acting was really good. Kept me hooked throughout, but I did have to rely on a walk through when it came to the puzzles.

  • Including the most basic task of plugging in an Android phone to access files on MacOS. It just works on Linux or Windows, but with MacOS I had to go the extra step of having to download and install Android File Transfer. And then wasn't even able to preview pics from the phone storage and had to move the files to the PC.

Apple probably wants people to go I should get an iPhone. But, given the experience of how it just works on Windows and Linux my thought was wow Apple is shit at compatability with everything that isn't Apple.

  • Yeah, I think there needs to be a push for less of these circle jerk posts. It seem more appropriate for a meme community than something that I at least assume is meant to be about more focused discussion about Linux than a Windows fixation.

  • If you don't want to abandon an account after a single post then only thing as others have mentioned is self displicine in what you share. General topics like inquiries on games, tech, and movies are probably of no special interest.

But, stuff like I'm from Atlantis and I am of noble lineage of the lobster clan who is part of an alliance to overthrow the clan of Corrals is too much info to be giving. Basically don't share stuff you wouldn't be comfortable people knowing in real life.

If there is this much paranoia though I think just lurking is the way to go, and keeping only an account for asking questions that is worded as unassuming as possible. Maybe even have AI rephrase what you wanted to ask.

  • 1DM+ and Hermit are the apps that have been in my constant rotation of use among the apps I bought. SeriesGuide too for tracking tv and movies.

Found I have replaced lot of apps with Foss alternatives over the years, so been buying apps less and less.

  • If a game is able to get 1000 hours of engagement isn't it actually pretty good? I don't have a game I've put that many hours into.

Did something drastically change X hours into Overwatch 2 that changed it from a game that could be played for that many hours into a not recommend?

  • I'd have a VR headset and maybe a 4090. Maybe not be a patient gamer. No I'd still wait for that part, since buggy releases wouldn't make me happy spending money on broken products even if it was only the equivalent of a dollar to me.

As for what I define as rich? Having your own place you actually like while not having to work anymore, since you got a steady flow of passive income to maintain the lifestyle you want.

Like I'd consider someone who lives in a small apartment or cozy cabin but has a sustainable lifestyle more rich than someone living in a huge home with multiple cars, but would lose it all if they lost their job less wealthy. Rich to me is being free of the rat race, and being able to keep up the standard of living that makes you happy and comfortable.

  • Writing down a short summary of what I did does sound like a good way to remember what I did in the game if I put it down for an extended time like a diary. Would be able to just read what I did to get back on track.
