I am getting the impression you have seen this meme somewhere before and are upset about it. Have you considered maybe this is a you issue? And, that some of us are seeing this for the first time?
I was going to dual boot, to kind of test the waters of using Linux as my primary. Then I heard there were is with Windows not wanting to play nice, so now I just run Linux.
And to be honest I don't actually know what any of the issues are, I didn't care enough to even search it. I just said Fuck Windows and moved on with my life.
You have to always remember the sales demo is meticulously crafted to make the product look like it can solve all your problems. If you don't know your processes, you can't evaluate if the product will work for your org.
One of Steam's selling point to developers is that it has easy DRM tools for them to use. Bethesda probably added their own DRM on top of Steam's. But no for profit company is going to let you pirate software they spent thousands or millions to developed.
This is what happens when bean counters make the decisions. Linux is only 4% of market share so I am sure the cost of supporting Linux users was not worth it.
Good luck, there is DRM on almost every peace of software you buy. Most of it you never notice but it is there. I am guessing IdBethesda Microsoft went a little too hard on their DRM and didn't learn from EAs blunder. We will probably have another Spore situation here and its becomes going to become the number one pirated game of 2025. Or maybe not, the last Doom game wasn't that great and I am assuming this one is trash too.
There was a shirt, it was Mario + Mushroom = Big Mario. Our administration thought this was a drug reference. Some nerdy kid would wear the shirt and about half way through the day they would be wearing it inside out.
The remake trend has been going on for a minuet now and a lot of once great game companies are now just stagnate. Blizzard is another one that comes to mind. If you want new and better games I think you need to start supporting indie games and projects like Godot that make indie game development possible.
that's golden (sarcasm)
