  • I'm convinced, I know where some are nearby so I'm going to head over they're soon and check them out.

  • Agreed. I've bought the game and it's dlc for two different friends and convinced another two to buy it for themselves. It's one of my most played games on Steam (nearly 500 hours in the game since I first bought it early 2018) and still play it occasionally even today. I'm a BIG fan of the game.

When the Quality of Death beta first came out I decided to attempt to 100% the game (there are over 200 achievements so it's no easy task) and I am finally nearly done. Overall the achievements have all been fun to get, aside from only a couple of outliers (namely the two speed running achievements). It's worth noting that quite a few of them require you to play with somebody else, but I would recommend doing so regardless.

But because of my achievement hunting, I've spent a lot of time playing the Quality of Death beta (though I have yet to play the final release of the update) and can say that the game's value has shot up enormously with it. Before the QoD update, my biggest complaints with Barony were that it was pretty new-user-unfriendly and the UI was really ugly. But the update completely overhauled the user experience in such a positive way that I can finally recommend the game to just about anyone that isn't immediately turned off by the art style.

  • Interesting. Turns out I'm still using version 6.3, which is the version just before they removed the ability to download FTB packs. Thanks for the heads-up, I'm certainly not updating now.

One thing I can confirm is that if you can find a way to install release 6.3, FTB downloads still work perfectly fine.

  • Can't you? There is a whole FTB section in prism when installing mod packs that seems to work perfectly fine for me.

  • You have to be doing that on purpose just to piss us off. How can anybody use a browser with that many tabs open??

  • They have such a wonderful way with words...

  • Wow, at least one highly upvoted comment like this has been on every single post that involves global warming on Lemmy that I've clicked on.

If we get to the point where we "learn our lesson", most of the innocent creatures on the planet are probably dead. You people depress me.

  • Finally started playing Chrono Trigger. I've never been a huge fan of older games or JRPGs, but what I heard about the quality of the game and it's story interested me enough to give it a shot regardless. So far I'm actually enjoying it a lot!

  • Reddit won't be finished for a long, long time. They could literally start charging $10 a month to use their site and at least half of their user base would probably stay. Ideally Lemmy will one day be a proper competitor, but even then Reddit will live on.

People are always talking about how "X is finished because it made a horrible business decision", yet they always live on. YouTube, Netflix, Discord, Twitter, Facebook, Reddit... they're all still doing just fine.
