  • Exactly. Untested edge cases of laws that most legal scholars agree with are useless when fascists WILL push the boundaries of law and with the SCOTUS being bought and paid for by said fascists, it'll probably go their way. Only obvious, iron-clad legislation can help to slow fascism's attempt at subverting democracy.

  • Fuses don't dissipate electricity. They pass electricity and then blow when exceeded. Blowing is either flipping off (like your breaker) or breaking (like replaceable fuses). The point of a fuse is to be the weakest link so if a surge occurs it doesn't damage equipment or wiring.

In the case you described, they were looking for a load (where energy is used or dissipated to do work) to absorb that much energy at once. There might be a fuse that could withstand that kind of load; there was wiring that could afterall. But if the shield system could absorb the full power of an overloaded warp core, it might not have needed one if there was no downside to overcharging it.

  • Is it a crime to submit an expert report that is wrong? Sounds like the libel version of perjury.

  • The DLC, definitely. The thorny planet is in the OG game a little bit. For the DLC I turned off scares because I don't really play horror games and it was still very fun.

  • Accessible from anywhere and any device. Non-local backups in case of a fire at your house and such.

  • The Bajoran economy is not post-scarcity

So I understand the above items (latinum being the most important and fungible) being non-replicatable. But at the point where Starfleet is permanently on your station and has easy access to both replicators and infinite energy, why aren't the Bajorans also post-scarcity? You'd think that tech, while powerful, is a far more important thing to trade for and Starfleet has an incentive to uplift societies it isn't at war with to prevent scarcity wars and instability.

  • I would like to add Outer Wilds to this. No combat, virtually no violence, and adult themes are aimed at mild existentialism. Great exploration game with fun physics and puzzles.

For older kids I'd suggest: Satisfactory. Essentially first person Factorio with mild combat vs fauna.
    Astroneer: exploration and advancement.

  • Same for search. If I'm trying to search for something that happened in the past and that person or subject has been in the news recently, that's ALL I get. even using +/- and "" modifiers does nothing and gives me results without my specific search functions.

  • Why the fuck are you unwilling to consider someone else?

Is this your first election? Incumbency advantage and name recognition. Anyone who understands that and continues to make excuses to not vote for Biden is a Trump supporter. Either intentionally or through sheer privileged ignorance.

  • Anyone not terrified of a Republican and/or Trump presidency has a shitton of privilege and needs to fucking check it. Cishet, white and men are prominent demographics for "he won't hurt me too badly" and by the time the redcaps come for those not in lockstep it'll be far, far too late.

  • Dropping out now is ideal, but he'd be forgoing both incumbency advantage and name recognition. I know why he doesn't drop for a younger person. Also because there are no prominent Democrats with enough name recognition right now. People can throw stones about why there aren't all day long but at this point it's too late.

  • Primaries? Sure. In the general if you do that you are essentially voting for Trump and/or fascism. Third parties are spoilers 100% of the time until they can actually win. And none of them can right now.

  • Just those 2 mixed? Over ice? That sounds quite sweet and syrupy.

  • Right behind them at the exit a few miles later.

  • In that amount of traffic? Probably driving on the shoulder.

  • Getting that money out of the company to use is very hard and can be traced/returned. It's not like they've got 180M in cash. And having your company bank exclusively with shady banks is likely to prevent you from getting a business license.

  • It's cheaper than a lot of retirement homes in America. Cruises outside of Caribbean voyages in peak season are like 90% retirees. It's a more viable option for a lot of people. If this 3yr cruise was a lot cheaper per day, it would make a lot of sense for them.

  • So what's your solution? And what steps have you taken to get there?

  • Stopping republican fascism gives us a chance to primary in people who can change Democratic stance. If enough progressives are voted in, it can change the party. Republican party has changed twice in my life: they absorbed the Tea Party and now the Insurrection Party. If enough voters want it and primary people, it can be changed.

  • Biden sucks. A lot.

If a Republican wins there likely won't be another vote. Fascists will win immediately. No country has ever gotten themselves out of fascism. Ever.

So what's your solution? Accelerationism? Are you literally constructing an armed insurrection to get ready to overthrow fascism? Do you have any plans at all? No? Just want to grandstand on the internet while helping fascism take root? Sad.
