  • The cat being both inside of a box and laying on a comfy bed makes it look like they hit some sort of cat nirvana. We can all endeavor to be half as satisfied as that cat probably feels.

  • We're actually running out of spots in hell for hardworking Christians at this point. We're having to quadruple and octople stack souls together and it's a bit alarming. I've been having to repeat a ton of times to the incredulous that feeling like you're doing the right thing and doing the right thing, [aren't the same thing].

They seem genuinely shocked and confused, which leaves me feeling leery if they're actually idiots or evil. Hanlon's Razor says to always assume ignorance before malice.

You guys gotta do something or all your old people are gonna end up cooking.

  • I recently switched from Opera to Firefox.

I was getting 59 FPS average in Opera, full bore 165 FPS / Hz in Firefox.

I didn't -want- to switch but it's objectively faster, especially on Linux.

  • I recall reading or hearing a rumour that the Vatican had a sealed scroll somewhere which is "to be opened in the event of positive extraterrestrial contact or proof".

Given secrets of that type don't often stay secret, it amounts to something like: "God made all life and the creator is in all living creatures" (handwaving).

In other words, the major religions already have their shit prepared.

  • Don't be so serious ~ 🎵

Honestly the game is a masterpiece and I'll come back some day to finish it. To me it felt like a transformative experience, especially because of what was happening in my life at the time, I got a new job in FinTech, COVID had just hit, everyone was afraid; I was in lockdown with new video game about the world ending.

Some people had Animal Crossing, I was covered in timefall, and checking my boots.

I also rebuilt the world for others to easily drive across - I don't know if most knew the highway system is down when you get there and requires repair. Japan, dude.

  • The camera angles and movement present in the trailer are definitely reminiscent of VR.

I'm an avid VR player / enthusiast and I think I might be making a pass on this one, I'm not sure. Given the depth and immersion of a properly fitted helmet, I've had moments that were "too close for comfort" and photorealistic games like this can definitely impact your psychology.

Most people are just like "Oh, but it's simulated violence, and there's lots of Call of Duty" - but there's a huge difference between those games and VR.

You are yourself in VR, even when playing a character, and it's almost impossible to divorce that, even with mirrors.

Guarantee you this game will cause some controversy upon early release, and I think that's the point/intention.
