I'm inclined to agree with others here in the thread. I honestly don't think this was an intentional action designed to tank Twitter. It may well be doing just that, but frankly, Elon has proven time and again that he's a world-class idiot.
Would this count for OC? I write political journalism pieces that I post in a couple of different places here on Lemmy, for critique and of course eyeballs.
Interesting to mention the exodus, but not the place where a considerable number of those people ended up. Right here on Lemmy. Perhaps that's for another article.
It's plausible that it's talking about electrical energy (Escalator, Lift etc) rather than physical. Though yeah I get where you're coming from, would bother me also.
This is definitely the way. There is something to be said about people's need or desire for validation via upvotes, but as others have mentioned here, it's super refreshing being able to interact with content hours after it was posted and not being drowned out.
This looks like Spez&co are attempting to implement a way for users (Probably Corporations, Influencers & Celebrities, let's be honest) to monetise their audience on Reddit. Frankly it goes against everything Reddit was supposed to be, but unfortunately they've made it very clear they don't exactly give a shit about the end-user any more, so I'm not at all surprised.
