  • They even have a full tutorial on it here.

However, if you're going the self-signed certificate route, consider to make your own mini-CA with root-CA + intermediate CA added in your trust store on every device and all your services behind a reverse proxy. The only thing you need to worry about is the certificates' validity !

  • It does "support" LVM, but with a wacky/hacky workaround and that's a real shame !

Also, there is some talking on github on how they will probably completely drop LVM in the near futur... That's not what someone should expect from a Linux installer!

  • Hehe, I'm doing this all the time now ! 3 years ago when I started my linux/self-hosted server journey with debian: CLI only !

Was difficult at times and had a few breakdowns (most got fixed the next day... Sleep/taking some time off really helps !!!)

One thing I'm still bad at... Is taking notes. Haven't found a good way take IT notes. And I tried sooo many different approaches...

  • Huuh ! That's somehow similar to how calamares treats LVMs. And also a hack/wacky workaround similar how to fix LVM installation

    • mount every partition similar as chrooting
    • cd to each directory in a separated shell for each directory (keeps the mount points busy)
    • swapon the swap partition

Only then you are able to install your OS with calamares on a LVM filesystem hierarchy...Except this is a 5 years long issue/bug and they are discussing to drop LVM support :/.

Sorry for hijacking your comment with something unrelated to the actual post, I'm just amazed on how Linux fixes/workarounds can be odd at times.

  • Because the group (collectively) have a history of being systematically killed and lynched for their sexuality, not to mention the rest of the suppression and oppression. So politics and attacks are taken seriously.

I get that... And that's a very serious issue and concern for whatever group you're defending ! But com'on we are on lemmy here, not on some obscure, harsh dictatorship killing people. Some of the admin may have said something inappropriate (that's arguable...) But that doesn't take away that we all can thrive here as a community, what ever your color, sexual orientation, religion...

Without the lemmy devs and others, there wouldn't even be any Lemmy at ALL. Seeing how it goes, this is going to ruine everything for everyone...

Lemmy's backend allows to create every safe space and community you want and people will still go one and argue against a personal opinion that didn't killed a fly...

What ever. This kind of mentality is going to ruin the fun for everyone...

  • Why do LGTBQ+xyz10 always have to make a fuss about everything... It reminds me of the vegan fuss era.

You still use lemmy's backend and have a safe frontend space to stay. That's kinda hypocrite to use a service that is "anti-lgtb" and still make a fuss about it. If lemmy really was about racial or sexual discrimination you would already know it.

It also reminds me all the fuss about THEIR safe game space only THEM are allowed to use... Uuhhhg it's kinda getting out of hand !

What ever, my point is, if you want to keep Lemmy alive, help out and donate to the creators. If you're a just a dumb leech, use a service that somehow "discriminates" you, don't donate, but PLEASE ! Leave.

  • I wish I could install EOS on my M1 Mac... I know threre is Asahi linux, but maintenace and updates have slowed down & stopped?

For good reasons though, hope the mainteners are doing okay. And wish them luck

  • Liquid Trees

    Jump
  • London is the perfect place for some futuristic cyberpunk distopia !

The rest of the world (except some highly polluting countries who anyway doesn't give a shit about the environment...) can keep the trees&bees and build arround it ! :)

  • AMERICA, fuck yeah !

Joke aside, that's some nasty drug addiction you have here, neverthless it's an useful one and worth the study to better understand how to treat venom.

There was also some kind of dude who did the same in Australia and in India.

  • Yeaaah this sucks... EU are such dumbass idiots...

I really hope for a EAST alliance and have high hope for EU becoming independent from US' bullshittery...

They are just parasites taking what they want to produce what they need... When things gets complicated they come to "lend us a hand" but only if it benefits them.

I would prefer an aliance with all the eastern countries and take once and for all the US domiance down...

  • Why do people only hit the nail on Nestle? Yes yes I do agree they are bad and need to disapear...

But haven't you all heard about CocaCola? Who destroyed whole villages' water source? Whole ecosystems to produce enough space to grow their ingredients?

CocaCola is probably as evil as Nestle, they are on the same level of evilness !

  • I think this one fits the bill ! From what I saw in the options you can even share a directory with multiple users while everyone has it's own place and create public links... Never used these functions, but seems possible !

There's also a webdav share functionality if thats something OP is interested in !

  • My LibreWolf config purges all data session (history, open tabs, search,cookies...) on quite/exit !

If there's something I need to keep or read-later, or work-on: readeck/zotero/karakeep makes everything easier to find !

If I need to bookmark something important linkding !

All those browser tabs, history, search results are a privacy nightmare !!
