  • As much as i want to hate on tesla, seeing this, it hardly seems like a fair test.

From the perspective of the car, it's almost perfectly lined up with the background. it's a very realistic painting, and any AI that is trained on image data would obviously struggle with this. AI doesn't have that human component that allows us to infer information based on context. We can see the boarders and know that they dont fit. They shouldn't be there, so even if the painting is perfectly lines up and looks photo realistic, we can know something is up because its got edges and a frame holding it up.

This test, in the context of the title of this article, relies on a fairly dumb pretense that:

    1. Computers think like humans
    2. This is a realistic situation that a human driver would find themselves in (or that realistic paintings of very specific roads exist in nature)
    3. There is no chance this could be trained out of them. (If it mattered enough to do so)

This doesnt just affect teslas. This affects any car that uses AI assistance for driving.

Having said all that.... fuck elon musk and fuck his stupid cars.

  • After reading through all of these comments, i am struggling to see the part where you proved anything that you have claimed.

You keep saying it's money moving around at the top. Please prove this.

You keep sayingit'ss not bringing people out of poverty. Please prove this.

You keep saying it's not saving any lives. Please prove this.

If you can't find and show any evidence to prove your claims, then you need to crawl back into whatever sweaty hole you were excreted from.

As someone who has previously fallen into the trap of pay day loans. When wonga went into administration and my debt was cancelled, i felt saved. I felt freed from the trap of constant debt. I never took another payday (or any type of) loan after this. My financial situation and mental health improved drastically.

    You dont know shit mate.

And arguing that poverty isn't relative is the dumbest take I've ever heard. What if you reverse the logic and say being rich isn't relative. If i can buy a mansion in one country for the same amount, it costs me to buy a 1 bedroom mould infested flat in another country, and then clearly all wealth is relative.

You being a moron doesn't change that.

  • If it wasn't a nazi salute, then why won't any other right-wing politicians, commentators, or pundits do it?

They have been challenged to, and they all skirt around it.

They claim it was a different gesture, along the lines of "giving my heart to you," but then won't do the actual gesture.

Charlie kirks' attempt to write off the obvious nazi salute was especially funny:

    https://youtu.be/x7Nz6QbCrIE

It's not even close... not even close....

They won't do it because they all know what it was. They know its wrong. They know only elon would get away with it (and possibly trump) because they are the leaders of the cult.

The only other person who did it (weakly, as far as i know, and almost didn't do it) is this guy:

    https://youtu.be/7E9pXCuJnbc

It was so awkward. He even had to give a little nod to himself afterwards when it didn't go down badly, as if he was sighing in relief.

It's pathetic that people try to defend it. It is obvious what it was.

  • This reminds me of way back when i beat a virus with task manager.

This one was showing as a process in task manager. If you killed it, it would just reappear moments later. I even tried finding the folder it was installing on my pc via rightclick on the program in task manager and clicking "open file location" closing the program and deleting its install folder. But it would still come back, installed somewhere else.

After some time messing around, i noticed that another program would show in the task manager, then the virus would appear, and then the other program would close and disappear from the task manager. All within about 1 or 2 seconds

So i killed the task, waited for the other program to appear right click it fast, open file location, and there it was, a different folder with a program that auto runs when the virus is removed to reinstall the virus and close itself to avoid detection.

I deleted that folder and then killed the virus program in the task manager, and it didn't reappear. I had won!

I seem to recall it was resistent to virus scanners for this reason.

But this was about 20 years ago so i doubt there are viruses that unsophisticated now.

  • I dunno, i once asked "i wonder what a lizard ,covered in shit and piss, with no personality, no social skills, no brain, no balls, no wit, full of confidence, more money than anyone has any right owning, shaped like a box with legs and is a racist, bigoted nazi would look like"

    Shit maybe its my fault!

  • Sun God

    Jump
  • Im struggling to parse this. The picture of the sun with the tiny dot when compared with the artists impression you posted. It just wont click together. How can the sun appear so big from the telescope compared to mercury but be so small from mercury's perspective?

Edit. Actually i think it clicked. Mercury is so far from us and so smalkl that it appears like a small dot through that telescope even when zoomed in enough to see the sun that closley. Its actually still really far from the sun but our perspective and that flat picture makes it seem like its about to be consumed by the sun. If it was off to the side the distance would be more clear.

    So more like this

    S---‐-------------------------------M--------------------------------------V----------------------------------E

    Than

    S---M‐---------------------------------------------------------------------V----------------------------------E

  • This isn't relevant to your comment, but out of curiosity. Have i been using the wrong cue in this context? It is cue and not queue, right? Like cue ball or cue the music, meaning begin or start and not queue like lining up or waiting your turn?

  • It would be funny if elon was actually only worth 400 million and not 400 billion.

Incidentally, his net worth has dropped below 400 billion to 398 billion since i last checked. Is he losing money? Is this anything to do with tesla stock?, because roughly 2 billion is a serious amount of money
